30 day challenge

Good day to everyone :) I am going to give up all drinks for 30 days,, anyone with me? I am doing this because I have noticed that I am drinking a bit more and I would like to nip the habit before it gets to be a problem. I figure 30 days is enough time to nix the habit and then if I chose I might bring it back, or I might now
If anyone wants to join me, come on aboard! If you would like to friend me, do so, but let me know how you know me (like thru this post :)

I'm in but have done the 30 day thing before and know where I end up after the 30 days! So I'm on day 32 and planning on going and going. But one day at a time! It's been a great decision and I hope you'll think so too.

well, I messed up. I knew it the moment I went into the resturant. But I have a horse and it is time to get back on it. I know this might be a process, and I wil lnot give up.

Is it just me, or does it feel like once we make a decision, opportunities to drink come out of the woodworks. Today is day 29. I almost said tomorrow is day 30, because I'm really looking forward to that number, but it literally is one day at a time and today is the day to focus on right now. There have been at least 3 days I can think of, that I really wanted to drink. One was a family event at a restaurant and the wine was free flowing. I ordered some flavored tea to have something different to drink. It ended up being pretty awful. I kind of just had a moment where I laughed on the inside, like, am I really doing this??? This tea tastes like @#$& and everyone else is enjoying their wine!!! (Insert sad face, pout, internal temper tantrum) For me it was kind of like a food craving, where if I just sort of ride it out there comes a point where the urge goes away. Then later I was happy about the accomplishment. BUT, don't get me wrong, at the time it was not easy. :)

There was one other time when my husband asked me to pick up a bottle of wine on the way home. I said "sure" and cried all the way to the store because I wanted to join him. I made a spritzer with a little lite cranberry juice, club soda, and lime. It was much better than the tea. LOL

Side note, is it weird that some things are so personal you can only tell them to strangers??? That doesn't seem to make sense to me. I haven't really talked about this to anyone except in this group.

Anyway, @LadyMud maybe try making it 30, "1 Day Challenges" in a row(?) "30" can be a big number all at once. I remember how awesome I felt at 5 days, then at 10, etc. Do you think that will help? In any event, you can totally do this, and the fact that you are getting back on means something.

It is funny how you can tell total strangers somethings, some of the internal stuff going on in your head :)
So yah, I messed up Thurs, but was good Friday, and then my brother and his family showed up, and I felt so weird not having a glas of wine with everone,, so I had one,, and then the seeking behavior kicked in. I had a few drinks later that evening, but not much as I might have before this desion. So I am going to go for 2 weeks this time, which will be tough because of a highschool getogether happening. But I gotta do t his, for my sanity, health and weightlosss!
Thanks for your support,, it is fantastic
