To cut, or not to cut? THAT is the question.

I was talking with some girl friends about their penis experiences and the talk of circumcised versus non-circumcised came up. It seems there's a lot of preference, but it's pretty evenly split. Personally I feel the performance and upkeep hygienically means more and I've noticed no particular swaying one way or another. SO LET'S TALK ABOUT IT MORE!

Men:
Are you?
Has it affected you? (if yes how?)

Ladies:
What do you prefer? Why?

Both:
Would you circumcise your son?

Yes. I don't know if it's affected me because I don't know what it's like not to be. I have no complaints though.

If I had a son I would probably do it, just because I am.

I actually have no preference having slept with both types .. however I choose not to have my son done because of some of the risk of "injury" (like losing the whole penis) and because his father was uncircumcised and that was what he wanted .........

I have always heard that uncircumcised men are larger....... And the uncircumcised guys I slept with were well endowed but so were several of the circumcised ones

You need a jewish guy to fill you in on this, I'm pretty sure their the only ones that have had both at a point in life where they would have an opinion.

I'll be honest, I've never seen a non-circumcised one in person.

I'm good either way, but uncut is more fun to play with ;). Wouldn't circumcise a baby if I had one.

Around Europe nobody is circumcised, seems a little strange to do it to a child.

I dont necessarily have a preference, BUT if I had a son I would circumsize for the following reasons.....my uncle was not circumsized as a child and had some problems as an adult, and that was the reason ( I did not ask questions on that), and my friends' husband is not circumsized TMI.......and she used to get continual yeast infections and couldn't figure out why....traced it back to the fact that her husband had the infection and was continually giving it to her, and they both still get them.....

Ewww. Thats a hygiene problem, not a circumcision problem.

I have found that guys that are circumcised are more prone to sensitivity issues (or lack thereof) which means they last longer, but are less sexually motivated (generally speaking) whereas guys that are not are the opposite. So it's kind of a catch 22.

I view it as genital mutilation and would never do that to my son. It he chooses to do so for religious reasons later in life then that's his choice, one that I won't make for him.

I'm guessing this is a myth. Could cutting a little skin stunt the growth of the entire thing? Just wondering...

I thought Jewish boys got circumcised soon after birth?

I agree it's a bit pointless asking guys that have no clue of the other option......lol

I think it's a myth that uncut guys are less hygienic. Kind of one of those excuses that's been made up to make it seem right? Like there's a good reason for it?

As far as I can tell, the only reason is one based on religious fanaticism.........and myth!

Absolutely agree! Much of the world doesn't circumcise and it is falling in the US too (50% of boys being born nowdays) and most people have no hygiene issues from it, thats just an ignorant excuse.

More like outdated. Back before daily showering was a thing it was more of a big deal. It's the same with pubic hair.

    Are you? No.
Has it affected you? (if yes how?) From personal experience, some girls found it fascinating. Would play with it, not realizing the sensativity and how it can hurt.

    Both:
Would you circumcise your son? No. I've read the horror stories of those procedures going wrong.

I will let my husband decide if I'm married when I have a child. If I'm single, I'll do some research first before I decide.

I personally prefer them cut, and I have had my son done.

I dated a guy in highschool who's foreskin wouldn't retract, it was painful, and I can just imagine the *kitten* underneath it (haha like my medical term?) .... I realize he is probably a one off.

There is also research that supports a cut male has less chance of getting HIV, but that is also lifestyle, so probably at the end of the day it is just personal preferance.

Uncut is just kinda silly looking ;)
  • I am fine with either. I have met more uncut Americans..Canadians are a toss up.
Although I might like the look and feel of uncut slightly more,
I would never, ever do it to my child.

My son was circumcised so he would be like his father and because (before the divorce) the plan was to be missionaries in some low-sanitary areas.
