I just wanted to post today because I was proud of myself
At the start of this programme, i struggled to even bench 25kg.. going back 12 months and doing NROLFW I struggled with 25kg bench press and my boyfriend needed to assist basically all of my reps!
Today guys... TODAY! Week 5 workout 1...
I BENCHED 37.5KG!
Yes... I did. According to my workout partner about 4 of my reps were assisted but not hugely apparently!
Oh my days I'm quite the proud pudding today
On a sad note... I've lost 1lb overall in 5 weeks so I thought ooh I'll measure myself.. no inches guys... NO INCHES.. But who gives a **** ... I BENCHED 37.5KG!!
Yeah BUDDY!!
That is all... thanks for reading!

That's awesome! Way to rock it out!
And don't worry about the measurements - your body is most likely rearranging itself. It'll come. And you're right - it doesn't matter, because you can push some serious iron!0 -
That's very amazing, and you should be proud of yourself for all that hard work and dedication!
Also, we usually do our bragging here (and a lot of it, along with general randomness) so feel free to join us!

Great job!! I'm also relatively new to SL 5x5 and SOOOOOO much weaker in the upper body so those gains in the bench are awesome!! Enjoy the PR!! I'm very encouraged with lifting in that it gives us more objective info on our progress other than the scale and the NSV's are so worth it!0

Thanks! See you in there0 -
Oh, that´s totally awesome! I just started SL a week ago and struggle to do 20 kg (44 pounds) in the bench, but squats 30 kg (66 pounds.) Everybody tells me that it´s normal to be weaker in the upper body. You have every right to be proud!! You surely give me hope, that I one day can do better than 20 kg!! Thank you, I really needed that.0

I started 5 weeks ago at 20kg and went up to 25 the next time as 20 was too easy. Didn't think I'd get this far this quickly so SL really does work
I do need a spot though.. if I didnt have one I'd probably still be at 25!!
Good luck :flowerforyou:0
