I can see your point but it doesn't have to be that way. I have kept playing wow through all of this and I am still getting more fit by the day. The trick is to go the gym first.

You can't start playing with the intent of going later. You make sure to get the gym time in first.

Also make water your only wow time beverage and don't let your snacks be a bunch of unhealthy stuff which I know is the typical standard. It is easy to thoughtlessly take in a bunch of calories while playing wow so if you do these things you can have the best of both world.

Truer words have not been spoken. If I start playing before going to the gym I simply end up not going.

I don't plan on quit playing WoW because I want to get into shape. WoW didn't make me this way.

I lost a lot of weight while up all night playing LotRO. I also put on weight while up all night playing LotRO.

A lot of it has to do with my mindset. As soldier said, if I do my workouts then play, I'm fine. If i start before my workouts, I feel obligated to do stuff and can't stop.

Right now I'm taking a break. I haven't been on in like two months. I burn myself out, take breaks, then get back on.

Video games did make me this way, but it was only because I let them take over my life for a long time. I'm still playing games, we switch around a lot, currently playing WoW and EQ, but I'm not letting them come first in my life. These days it's kids first, everything else, then games during my rare free time.

Hey... look @ it this way. If it isn't 6 mths of WoW being the culprit, it's probably gonna be 6 mths of <insert sedentary activity here>.

I have to agree. No matter what your hobbies are you health will be determined by whether or not you get in your workouts and how your diet is.
