Time frame for training bridge from Half to Full Marathon

I've been keeping up half marathon training mileage since my first half in January. Just finished my 2nd half and have a couple more scheduled through the rest of the year. I intend to stay at this training mileage (30-36/week) until the end of the year. At that point (late Dec/early Jan) I'd like to start increasing to full marathon training. I do not have a particular marathon in mind.

So what I'm asking is what is a reasonable time frame to advance from a half marathon training of 30-36 m/week with a long of 12-14m, to a full marathon and if someone can direct me to a training plan like this. Once I have that estimated time frame, I'll start looking for a marathon in that window. Thanks.

With a solid base like that, you'd easily ramp up using a 14-16 week marathon program. Possibly even 12 weeks.

I would say with LR of 14 miles you could easily transition to a 20 mile LR in 2 months. Most plans have you up mileage two weeks in a row and then have a fall-back week to allow recovery; the 20 miler is usually the longest run prior to your marathon although I have seen plans that go as long as 22.

    Hiya

I have a similar plan in mind. I completed my first 10 miler in January, half in march and have two more halfs/ 5ks/10ks lined up. I am hoping to run my first marathon spring 2014. I already have two in mind but it depends if I get in. I really like the Hal higdon plans or runners world smart coach. The latter tends to be a bit more flexible and takes into account what you already do. I usually end up using the two together.
