I'm having a problem of taking time off from working out. I used to only work out 3x a week and now it's up to 6 days a week with Sunday being my only day I don't do anything and I am having thoughts of adding Sunday too now. I think it's good and bad.

^ Sorry for that post up there. ^

Earlier today, I signed up to go dancing with a group of single parents on Saturday night. (Via meetup, I have done a few events with them with my kid, but this will be the first adults-only event where I have to show up alone.)

I am thinking about how nervous I am! How I want to cancel, but how I also know that I will never meet people if I do not go out this little comfort zone I have built for myself.

I'm finally finished unpacking, I was able to do grocery shopping so my meals are good for the week, I had Jury Duty on Monday which was basically me watching Doctor Who all day, and I'm rip rarin' ready to go go go!

    My randomn thoughts today:

I'm super excited that I bought this Polar watch to count my calories.. I can't wait to see how much I burn working out tonight!

I'm super excited that I added my church crush to facebook last night.

I'm super excited that I got a randomn check in the mail for 154$ because I accidently overpaid on one of my bills.

    Overall...super exciting day.

I am getting excited because I am going hiking in the Grand Canyon next Monday. I think it will be awesome. I'm also going to be in Las Vegas Tuesday night through Friday. That will be fun too. However, I am working a few hours longer each day this week. Seeing how nice it is outside is sucking the life out of me because I am usually home from work by now.

wish I had that problem, I haven't been able to work out in 2 weeks. I suspect I have a case of plantar fasciitis and it hurts to just walk. I thought if I had a few rest days I would get better but i'm starting to suspect I tore a ligament. walking hurts, shoes hurt, barefoot hurts. I'm not very happy about this right now but oh well i'm trying to be patient.

if u add something on sunday maybe throw in some light walking or yoga. don't over do it

that's right sometimes we have to get out of our comfort zone - you may be pleasantly surprised at meeting new people and making new friends

I didn't get a check in the mail, but I did receive about $340 of product in error. I bought myself some new comforter sets while they were on sale 2 weeks ago. (Marked down to half price. I paid $85/ea.) I received the first set in the mail last week. Today a duplicate delivery was on my doorstep. I informed the company but they didn't want them back.

I LOVE to dance but don't have any friends where I live that want to go. So AM excited to go for that reason.

Cajun dancing? Cool!!! I hope you have fun this weekend!

Yes, I am hoping! If all else fails I will drink a few beers, pretend I am a rockstar, and get a good workout, eh? lol

    It's now Wednesday....

I'm getting ready to teach a class. Not in the mood to do so, but it pays the bills and gets me out of the office, so I'll do it. ;)

I'm also tired of these "non-attainable" guys wooing me. I know how to say no, so it's not a matter of that. It's just meeting these great guys but knowing nothing will come of it. One has told me he'll never file divorce paperwork, yet he still wants to date. Big no in my book. The other is a friend of a friend...there is a lot of relationship potential in him, but he lives almost 5 hours away. It wouldn't be an issue, except we both have kids and very busy schedules that would keep us from seeing each other.

Anyway, those are my random thoughts of the day...

I wouldn't be cool with dating a man that wouldn't get a divorce either... seriously guy?

I don't blame u for not wanting to date the divorced one. and the long distance with the other one sucks. sigh. :ohwell:

The good news is it is Wednesday which means we are close to the weekend :drinker:

French Quarter Fest is this weekend in nola as well as strawberry festival which I've never been to.

I'm looking fwd to both.

Also, my foot finally felt like normal today (plantar fasciitis for 2 wks) - I didn't even want to get out of bed so I wouldn't have to walk on it and potentially make it flare up again but I'm hoping if its still ok at the end of the day I can get in a little workout

Tip on the PF - make sure you keep your calves and tendons that wrap your keep stretched. Step up on a step and position yourself to do heel lifts over the edge. Drop your heels down and hold the stretch, going as deep as you can. During a flare, try freezing a bottle of water and rolling that back and forth under the arch of your feet. The ice soothes, the motion massages and eases the pain. If you're not mid-flare, you can do the same thing with a tennis ball to massage and stretch those tendons.

I've been living with PF for more than 10 years now... I can't build my calf muscles without losing feeling in my feet, which sucks. My favorite workouts are step aerobics and hiking through the Ozark mountains... both of which tend to lead to flare ups for me. But, you learn what you can and can't get away with, and you survive.

NOLA, so bf and I (and maybe some friends) will be going to NOLA to celebrate my b-day. B-day is May 3 but bf is off the weekend BEFORE so that's when we're planning (april 26-28).
I was reading last night, that weekend is Jazz Festival. How is that?? I'm sooo excited. I've been to NOLA 2 times but bf hasn't, well at least not to party (he's flown to airport). Anywho, is it crazy packed that weekend? I can't wait!

@nolachick foot injuries are no joke. I hope you get better soon.

My Wed is going great! Though it's my Sunday in a sense of the work week. I am going to bed in a couple of hrs to start my Monday later tonight. I did get a nice hug from the kick boxing instructor today. She teaches Zumba and I always hang out in the back of her class. 2 reasons 1) I hate my reflection in the mirror. 2) I am 6'3 and don't want to obstruct the view of the other ladies during the classs. Today though I was right up front and center for the kick boxing class. I claimed my spot and made sure I had my room. I would die of embarrassment, cancel my gym mmembership, and never return if I ever clock a girl in one of the classes. :embarassed: The instructor hugged me b/c she was proud of me being up front and center in the class instead of the back.

@melody - that sounds painful but I've heard of ppl losing weight after getting their wisdom teeth extracted so I would be kinda excited about that LOL. hope it goes ok.

@jkandktmom - is your insurance covering your car? that sounds like a lot of $$$

@lacroyx, that is so considerate of u not hugging up the mirror at zumba - I hate when ppl do that. you are so nice :)

@tube socks - jazz fest is usually fun, have u gotten ur tix yet? ppl take jazz fest serious haha. depends on what ur trying to do that weekend u will probably have a lot of fun in the quarter or at the fest. the crowds will be at the fest tho so don't go if u don't like to be in big crowds and in the hot sun but if u love good food and music - DO IT!

@2stepz - thanks for the tips - this is my first time experiencing this type of pain. I usually had just shin splints but that went away quickly. this FT flare has lasted 2 weeks and it has progressed from limping to walking funny and today I think i'm better. I have been trying to do all the stretches that I've read about online. how long before u go back to working out tho? i'm scared to hurt it all over again.

If you feel like you can make it through whatever you're doing... try it. Listen to your body. However... make sure you stretch REALLY WELL before and after. (especially after)
