Squat question

I started SL yesterday, however I have been folowing NROL4W since January, so I am not a complete newbie to lifting.
However, I struggle with squats. My husband watched me yesterday, my form was terrible.
After watching some youtubes and reading many articles last night, and me squatting many times over with hubby watching, it seems that I have good form if I do not go down too far. When I try and squat low, I end up leaning far forward.
So my question is this - any advice on getting lower? I know I need to get more flexible, I need to strecth, especially my calfs. Any other exercises I could be doing to help me get these squats down?
Thanks

For me, it was stretching and practice. I'm sure there are other things you could do, but just practicing body weight squats really helped me. Also, I used a broom as a bar to mimick the movement when I first started.

That video/article is good. I practice hip hinge when I'm at work. It's helped with my squat movements.0 -
Agreed. Keep the weight light, practice, and don't add weight until you feel like you can get your form right. For me, tightening my abs (and sadly keeping "tits out" in my head) helped with dropping my torso. When I don't think about engaging and tightening my core, I tend to fall forward.0
