In doing some bar research I just realized they have a deadlift bar. Does anyone use this? I have seen it at my gym but was never sure what it was used for. Thoughts?

there are bars that are a tiny bit different for deadlifting but at the weights you're doing right now its not going to make any difference at all, so I wouldn't worry about it. I mean, assuming you're talking about something like a texas bar - deeper knurling on the sides, no center knurling, slightly longer?

If you mean a trap bar, that's different altogether. IF you're doing good with the straight bar I wouldn't switch to the trap bar.
  • There are a lot of different barbells out there. Bench press barbell, 2 inch diameter grip barbell, Hex barbell etc. I don't bother with that extra stuff. Just a normal barbell is fine for me.

Nope, I stick to the standard 20 kg oly bar for all lifts.

I work out at home and use the 45lb Olympic Bar for all my lifts.
