How are you *feeling*??

I'm on Day 17 and can say with certainty that the sugar cravings have finally subsided completely. I'm sleeping like a rock (used to wake up at least twice a night) and my skin is looking brighter. Wasn't having break out issues but it just looks better overall.

What about you? Energy through the roof? Tiger Blood (HA!)?? How are you feeling??

Pants that fit me two weeks ago are now ridiculously too big. NSV!!

Last week I had 2 days of really bad sugar cravings late in the week during the afternoon. I just ended up eating a lot those days because I figured if I couldn't have a latte or something similar I should at least eat something else (lots of pistachios lol.) But this week that's better again.

I'm sleeping better through the night, but I find I'm sleeping less each night. In order to cook food in the morning and assemble my lunch box for the day, I find I need to wake up about 45 minutes earlier, but I'm not able to go to bed any earlier. I just feel so busy this month! Fortunately most of the foods I'm preparing take less time than recipes I would have made before, but the time just ends up adding up- preheating ovens, washing dishes, waiting for things to cool before putting them in the fridge. Anyway, I'm feeling great eating all my own food, but I wouldn't say my sleeping has improved or that it was even a problem before.

My pants are also feeling loose- hooray! I feel like my stomach is looking flatter than it did not even 3 weeks ago. I hope when I take my after photos there will be a little bit of visible difference in my body.

I definitely want to keep up this kind of eating like 80-90% after the Whole30. I will continue cooking my breakfasts and lunches to take to work, but I'm going to allow myself at least 1 meal at restaurant with my boyfriend/friends each week and then maybe another meal where I add in some foods from the "no" list, depending on how they affect my body during the post-Whole30 reintroduction plan.

Glad to hear about all your positive changes!

Are you able to do any cooking on the weekend to make your weekdays a little easier? I'm finding that by having my main protein precooked, all I have to do is pull together some veggies to put with it. It's easier for me in any case.

I'm going to bed by 9:30 at the latest because I can't keep my eyes open! Usually it would be 11:30 or so! Not anymore! Good luck with the sugar cravings. That was tough for me!!

It's funny- I feel like I'm getting a good head start on cooking on Sunday evenings, but then by like Tuesday the meat is all gone :-O I'm eating sooo much chicken, fish, other meats- it's crazy! I also only have a little convection oven and a gas burner here in Korea, so by the time I come home in the evenings, generally after 9 because of evening classes, I have time to prep like 1-2 things max before bed :( Honestly though, I'm happy I actually have the energy and motivation to wake up in the morning to cook. Never have I been a morning person, so there's something about this Whole30 that's helping :-D

But like you I'm feeling much more tired in the evening! It's just a matter of being too busy these days to go to bed when I'm tired, so I'm powering through :)

I'm feeling great! Only on Day 4 though, haha.

So far it's been real easy, but I'm getting a little scared about weekends and going out with friends. I hate being 'the guy' who asks the waiter if there's any sugar in the marinade for the meat.

Ah well, I'll live through it. I think I'll try to stick to salad and olive oil/balsamic vinegar and soda water to be safe, and then go home for some protein.

As for meal prep, we always make double for dinner and bring leftovers to work for lunch. Makes it pretty easy to stick to the plan. Breakfast I find is hard though because I'm never hungry when I wake up.

Let us know how your weekend with friends goes! The social aspect has been the toughest part for me. Whenever friends invite me to dinner or something, I find myself saying I already have plans. Or I'll suggest going out for coffee where I get my americano or tea instead of going out to dinner. The whole restaurant thing is tough since they don't really "do" special orders here in South Korea. So I can't ask for dressing on the side (their salads are smothered in sauces) or ask them to cook meat in olive oil and not sesame oil, or something to that effect. First, there's the language barrier, but really it's just not done here since you are expected to eat the food given to you. Each restaurant generally has 5-8 things on the menu and then there are tons of side dishes that the table shares. Healthy, generally, but not Whole30 compliant. Ah well, for 30 days I can stick to this commitment, and I'll just go out with friends occasionally afterward. I wish I were one of those people who could go out to a restaurant and enjoy the company without the food, but I feel too weird not eating when everyone around me is, and then I'm miserable.

Just baked 5 sweet potatoes to be eaten over the weekend and early next week, and they smell soooo good right now. I want one haha. But it's almost midnight. I'll be good ;)
