Cleaning Bike

This is mostly for mountain bikers: here in the northeast we unfortunately have to deal with mud. So what is everyone's process for cleaning their bikes after a muddy day on the trails? Do you spray the bike down with a hose?

I spray the bike down with a sprinkler hose, but not on jet - just the shower setting - while the mud is still wet. Then clean and oil as you normally do.

Don't wait for it to dry out as it is loads more difficult to clean off after that.

Yep. Hose it off, wipe it down and lube it up.

I like to use some car washing soap and a soft brush. I can swab off all of the dirt and then gently rinse it with the hose. Don't want to blast water into all of the bearings and pivot points.

If I get the time I will wax the bike frame every so often with Collinite (Car wax if you don't know it) and it makes cleaning the bike down a lot easier.
