I'm kind of interested but the majority of my miles are off road. I mean depending upon conditions and the exact trail I'm riding 1 mile can be 2-4 times a road mile so I'm not really sure it translates.

Nice! Unfortunately, if I get in, it won't be till after the Giro.

But we're measuring in Km's

Look - it's all about getting people out riding... we don't do multiuplication factors for MTB rides, we don't penalise people for riding recumbents - some people live in the flatlands, others on the side of a mountain - it's JUST RIDING, thats all... And sometimes, the margin between success and failure of getting the distance could be 1km - now frankly, I'd be happy if someone rode that on a bloody unicycle it it meant that the team hit their mileage.

As someone said before, conversion doesn't work very well you just ride faster or ride longer

I'm adding the sign up thread to all the posts I am making - I really hope we can fill up the third team!

My point was that It seemed like you were pushing a competitive edge to it having teams etc. and although it would be cool to "get involved" that it wouldn't quite be fair on the rest of the team. :)

If it's just about getting out there riding, I ride pretty much 6 days a week as is. :-p

I'll sign up though and see how it goes. :)

EDIt: Ahhhh I see you aren't going to count miles from RideWithGPS. I log everything there plus I don't make public any ride that starts at my house either for obvious reasons. Oh well.

I'm guessing it's probably not for you mate... We'll make the numbers up somehow.

Anybody else want to join the fun?? We're trying to fill up a 3rd team. We take all riders, all bikes, etc! It's just about having fun and getting a little encouragement to ride just a bit farther or just a bit faster than you otherwise would. at least, that's how it is for me!

BTW..regarding GPS and leaving from your home....I just set my 'home' location to private. Frankly, anyone with half-a-brain nowadays can figure out where you live and get a nice satellite picture of your place anyway. I can't be afraid of the crazies out there. I live my life.
