HI all!!
I don't have kids yet, but will be 39 in July... haven't had my period in 9 weeks, and no , I'm not pregnant, ...and before that my period was every 6 weeks, for a few months, but totally regular before that ....I have started body building since the changes in my period and changed to a paleo diet. Is it possible I am too fit to get pregnant? I am starting to get concerned that it may be signs of infertility...here is the article I found
http://www.runaddicts.net/health-nutrition/too-fit-to-get-pregnant

any thoughts or similar experiences?? thanks!!

    Hi Jenna!

I'm sorry you are feeling concerned. Hopefully, it's just the new changes to your diet and routine combined throwing things off for a while. The article suggests trying to take your work out down a few notches and see if that has an effect on your cycle. Would you want to try that? I would really suggest you talk to your GYN about your concerns, for peace of mind if anything else.

    Best of luck!!

Fingers are crossed for you that it isn't an infertility sign. I went through the testing because I was becoming irregular and started to panic ( was 38). Fortunately it all worked out and hopefully for you it is just your body's way of reacting to changes. Best wishes!

I hope all goes well Friday! I don't have any medical advice, but I have noticed a trend with my friends. My slim pals (not always fit, but thin) became pregnant when they gained a few pounds and my heavier pals became pregnant when they lost a few pounds. I lost about 30 lbs. before I got pregnant, but not sure if that had anything to do with it . Okay, okay ... I know that probably doesn't help you  I wish you the best!!! :flowerforyou:

thanks, I actually have heard that before, that after gaining a bit of weight it was great for fertility....my bodyfat% is very low, which I think has alot to do with fertility too.

If your bodyfat is too low, that could explain amenorrhea and that does make you temporarily infertile. Just have to eat more to keep up your body fat and still letting you do your fitness stuff. :)

How are things going? Have your cycles regulated? what did the doc say?
