Househunting in DC

I'm going househunting in the DC area Sat-Tues. Specifically, I'm going to be looking in the part of Alexandria below the beltway. If any of y'all have recommendations, or wanna tag along with me as I go look at houses do let me know. My weekend will be punctuated by a funeral unfortunately, so I will likely spending my evenings comforting my friend rather than hanging out. But during the day a girl's gotta eat so if you wanna meet for lunch or breakfast PM me. It would be cool to meet some more MFP friends.

    Awwww man!! I really wish I could!! We have as full of a weekend as possible with multiple baseball games and my daughter's birthday.

    I have a few military friends up that way, specifically in Alexandria. Are you looking to buy or rent? House, townhome or apartment? I'll get you some recommendations. :)

    Rent. I already have one albatross of a house an hour away. Hoping to rent a house, townhome ok. I promised my son a pet after this deployment so cats must be allowed. Apartment is fall back (I find it hilarious the apartment complex I would have chosen already houses my ex husband, lol)

    Well, I know from experience you can't go wrong in Old Towne (have friends there and it's beautiful). But, it's probably on the higher end of rent. I'll send some emails and see what I can find out for you. :)

    Ooo fun, I live in Arlington! I haven't met anyone from MFP and would have loved to but I'm going to be out of town this weekend :(. Would love to hang out when you move though! Unfortunately I don't know too much about houses in the area (pretty much everyone I know lives in Arl/DC in apartments - if you end up looking for those let me know). If you have other questions about the area let me know, good luck!
