Scriptures: Luke 3:1-6
Observation: when I am going through a valley I shall be filled, when I am facing a mountain or a hill it shall be made low. The crooked will be made straight, the rough places will be made level ways. It doesn't matter what circumstances I am dealing with in the Flesh. I will see the salvation of the Lord.
Application: my salvation is not defined by the circumstances I am facing or dealing with in the flesh. I need to understand that my salvation has to do with my relationship with Jesus Christ
Prayer: I thank you for showing me that salvation is not defined by my circumstances and that despire the things I am dealing with in the flesh I will still see the Salvation of the Lord.

It was now the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius, the Roman emperor. Pontius Pilate was governor over Judea; Herod Antipas was ruler over Galilee; his brother Philip was ruler over Iturea and Traconitis; Lysanias was ruler over Abilene. 2 Annas and Caiaphas were the high priests. At this time a message from God came to John son of Zechariah, who was living in the wilderness. 3 Then John went from place to place on both sides of the Jordan River, preaching that people should be baptized to show that they had repented of their sins and turned to God to be forgiven. 4 Isaiah had spoken of John when he said,
“He is a voice shouting in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming!
Clear the road for him!
5 The valleys will be filled,
and the mountains and hills made level.
The curves will be straightened,
and the rough places made smooth.
6 And then all people will see
the salvation sent from God."'0 -
(I am still reading, just super busy and not posting as much. after this week- when classes and relatives are done/left- II'll be back on my game)
My tidbit reading this passage:
God makes sure to write all the people in charge at the time, what year in their reign, etc.
If He wrote it, it's important.
I remember as a little kid, blurring through those parts of scripture, they were boring, all those big names, and I didn't see their importance. But God thought they were important! So they are. It's a baseline, an anchor to people and events in our history. We can look back over historical records and see when these people lived and reigned.
Yes, we believe with faith, the 'evidence off things not seen'-- but it's good for us to be able to have an explanation! Even the Bible tells us to be prepared to explain what we believe.
prayer- help me to see the importance of 'seeming mundane details'0 -
I love how God's word is true. Every OT prophecy will be fulfilled. During hard days and persecution for our faith we can be anchored on God's Word. We aren't left to wander aimlessly as to what God expects us to do. Repent and believe. Thanks for the fellowship ladies.v0

LUKE 3:1-6
5 The valleys will be filled, and the mountains and hills made level. The curves will be straightened, and the rough places made smooth. 6 And then all people will see the salvation sent from God.
OBSERVATION
I remember watch a movie called "The Black Knight" (very funny movie indeed) nevertheless, Martin Lawrence ended up presenting himself (and not realizing it at the time) as someone who came from another kingdom to prepare the way for the prince or king who was coming shortly after. Well, quite like this, John the Baptist, prepared the way for the coming Messiah. People who listened repented of their sins and were ready for the Lord to come to them. God showed us yet again how he works through the humble and obedient vs the high political beings. There were Tiberius, Pilate, Herod Antipas, Philip and so on, most of them being the most feared and respected men in their time. Even though they ruled in their own part of Rome, God used the the humble but zealous John the Baptist to prepare the way...giving his life and work on earth at the time much more importance than any of them in rule. Those men were great but John the Baptist went down being even greater! He gave the definition of giving himself totally to be used by God. It's sad that in this day in time, if we act as John the Baptist had, we will definitely be called "crazy" holy rollers or even demon possessed! It wouldn't surprise me because we ARE living in a day that people call right...wrong and wrong...right. The bible calls it the end times. John fulfilled the old test prophecy in Isaiah. He went about preaching and urging all not just the Jews to repent - turn completely away from your sins and be baptized to show as much and move towards the Lord as He come to you. It doesn't matter what race, denomination or no church affiliation, Jesus welcomes all. He did then and does now. That's what so great about it! He loves us unconditionally.
APPLICATION
John the Baptist did exactly what he was supposed to do in life and he did it well. I have the desire to do that as well. Whatever it is that God need me to do, I want to do it.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, again thank you for the heroes of faith before me. Help me and give me strength and direction as I look to walk in your word and fulfill all that you desire for me to do. Please keep a hedge of protection over all your people who love you and desire to do your will; especially those in other countries that are being threatened and tortured because of being a Christian. Bless all of us right now in your Son Jesus Christ name I pray, Amen.0
