Hello everyone.

I just decided to start using this website again not too long ago to keep myself eating healthy. I am diagnosed with bipolar I with rapid cycling, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety. I haven't been on medication for over a year because I couldn't deal with medications and horrible side effects with no results. I've actually taken a step forward and finally scheduled an appointment to get back on medication on Thursday, but now I have to worry about the potential to gain weight from all of the drugs.

I had problems with my bipolar meds and weight a few times. Depakote and zyprexa. My new plan is to closely monitor my weight anytime a med changes or is added, and if I notice a decent amount of weight gain, I call my psychiatrist and immediate being to go off the med. I hope you find the right meds to help you.

med weight is the devil. I lost my insurance so switched from pexeva (over $300 a month!!!) to paxil and even though they are both paroxetine the paxil has given me a good 15lbs at least in just a few months! i had come to terms with gaining drug weight....but at this point i am just fed up! so about to go through a med change because while i would rather be chubby than insane...even that has its limits! I wish the nest for both of y'all. hopefully we can all find some balance and a way to lose this med weight without sacrificing our mental stability!
