Hey fellow crossfitters!
I'm new to both crossfit and myfitness pal.
How does everybody here log their workouts in the exercise section?

I just posted this in another thread. I don't log any of my exercise. It is entirely way too inaccurate for me, especially considering how impossible it is to calculate lifting calories. I calculated my TDEE, subtracted 15-20%, and eat that everyday. On heavy WOD days I may eat slightly above that if I'm hungrier (but never above my TDEE) and on rest days I may eat slightly lower.0

I wear a heart rate monitor when I workout, which I pause during set up and when we're in between workouts. I log it as "CrossFit" (created a category) under Cardiovascular. I log it because I want to track the days I exercise and an approximation of how many calories I burn. I like having as much data as possible to track my progress in a number of areas.
Other people log it as "Circuit Training, general", a pre-made exercise in MFP's database.
Many CrossFitters don't log it at all since it's not a continuous, steady heart rate exercise.
Others simply log the amount of time with just 1 calorie and list their WOD in the Exercise Notes section of their diary.
The moral of this post is to decide for yourself based on your goals.0 -
I log it under "circuit training". That being said, I do not put a lot of faith in the accuracy. I also don't rely on heart rate monitors, since a lot of WODS you are working in an anaerobic state which will not calculate properly on a heart rate monitor. Pick something and stick with it as your standard, then you can adjust your calories as needed going forward, if the results are not what you want to see.0

I created a new Crossfit exercise and log 300 cals per WOD - some days I'm over and some I'm under I'm sure. I am always interested in other peoples burns with HR to check I am kind of on track.0

YEUP. ALL OF THAT.
HRMs are only accurate for steady state cardio... CrossFit is basically the opposite of that.0
