Ladies...it is mostly ladies we have in here, blokes don't seem to get this trouble so much...I am losing weight nicely, I am strong, I am fit, I am wearing a size down in clothes. YAY!

BUT! There is this tummy thing. The I have had two children and had a preggy belly with lotsa stretch marks thing. The I have been 189 lbs with a big tummy thing. The saggy, belly button mis-shaping I am getting the freak older tummy thing. It finally got to me. I know it is genetics, I know because I had eating disorders the predisposition is to put fat on disproportionately in this area, I know it will get better as I lose more fat...I know. I have been down to 20 % body fat and it looked pretty good then. Not perfect, still a bit saggy and baggy, but a lot better.

Thing is, I see the ladies who can wear belly button adornments and crop tops and I have to admit I am envious...*sigh*

Just wanted to get that off my chest.

ah, I hear you - I had 2 c-sections so I have the weird double belly thing going on. I've concluded (finally) that I'm never going to want to get to a fat % which improves it totally, as then I'd have no boobs (and the huz already complains that they've disappeared.. they are still an f/ff so hardly disappeared!).

However, I saw pics this weekend that made me realise that although I'm around or above the weight I was last September, my stomach looks soooo much better thanks to the lifting and toning going on underneath. So I'm not going to be in bikinis any time soon but my 'line' under fitted clothing is much much better. will try and upload some comparators at some point.

be strong, be healthy, and remember that it all ends up in the ground or in a furnace in the end, so it's not that important :) xx

I wanted to reply to this because in a way I feel your pain too. I really thought that with all the exercise and the lifting my tummy would get better faster, but like you said it seems to be the genetics messing up my plans. I look like I’m 5/6 months pregnant and I hate it. My husband says that since I started lifting my shape looks better and I can tell that my shoulders are broader, but my belly… No words. All I can say is that we are putting the effort and sooner or later our bodies will get there. Girl… you know that you are super and you exercise with intensity. Just keep pushing, analyze what your diary to see if any changes in types of food should be made, and keep being amazing.

<<<<<<< So you can kinda see my lower belly pooch in this pic. This is my 2nd biggest point of contention and I TOTALLY get where you are coming from! Plus I still have this little pocket type thing around my belly button....doesn't seem to want to go away! I am lucky in the sense that it's not saggy skin yet, still just fat

The part on me that bugs me probably the same as your tummy bugs you are my thighs. All those years of not taking care of my body took their toll on my poor legs but I have decided this year that I will no longer hide in capri's and pants....I'm going to rock my shorts and my short shorts and anyone that doesn't like it can take a hike! I'm strong and fit and sexy and everyone has bloody cellulite!!!

Yeah, I hear ya. If I'd a known what was going to happen to it, I would've bared my stomach more when I was younger LOL.

I struggle with my belly too. I try to own it, and be proud of it and the three children that came out of it. But I so envy those young things with flat abs . . . . .

    I'm terrified of this.

No kids, but I've been heavy for a very long time (5th grade was when it was kindly brought to my attention by those c-words in my class) and I carry the majority of my weight in my mid-section. I have no cellulite except on my stomach.

My plan is to keep on keeping on and save up for a tumy tuck. :drinker:
