I enjoyed it. I have never read the comics so I am not upset by the plotline too much. Like you the end of the movie kinda sucked. I don't know if it was because of contracts ending, not wanting to make another stand alone or what but it seemed empty.

But the very end of the credits said Iron man would be back in the Avengers 2

Hasn't there been rumour of Pepper Potts being in the Avengers 2 - I read during an interview Downey was asked if he would do another Iron Man and was wishy washy with his answer but Paltrow chirped up and said that she thought Pepper Potts would certainly be up for it or something along those lines. I think she puts on the arm of the MK 7 armour in the film though a lot of ppl think it's the MK 42 but either way in the comics she is Rescue, which I think i'd like to see in the movies

Back in the Avengers 2 yes....Iron Man 4 is a different story. It will probably happen but they don't know for sure yet due to contract negotiations.

I think my favorite line in that movie was --- "To be honest I dont even like working here everyone is just to weird lol '

It had some great one liners

I saw it with the wife and kids on Sunday. I thought it was pretty good overall. I had a little trouble buying into Stark's anxiety attacks. Definitely worth it though.

    i liked it!

though i was sad they kept mentioning 10 rings, showing them, etc., but didn't go into their usage or powers.

another film which had a lot of great energy, then putters out at the end.

I wasn't too amazed... I admittedly wasn't expecting a whole lot though; I only went because a date took me on Friday. I never saw the first Iron Man, and I only saw the second one because Mickey Rourke would be in it. I think the whole time I was watching Iron Man 3, I just kept thinking, "No Mickey Rourke..."

I already posted about this movie in the general chit chat forums but since most people in this thread seems to like this movie I guess I'll weigh in and see if you all can explain to me why you still like this movie despite its enormous problems.

Iron Man threatens the Mandarin. He is expecting him to attack him at his home address because like a *kitten* he gave out his home address to the world. He has a room full of Iron Man suits which are combat ready and apparently he can have them all fighting at the same time. So of course he has none of his suits ready to go and he is wearing the only one that isn't combat ready.

This isn't an inference either by the way Jarvis blatantly tells him that the MK42 is not ready for combat. Why would he be wearing a suit that is not ready for combat when he is expecting real combat? Just imagine how that scene would have gone differently if he had one of his other suits on.

Then think forward from there. How many scenes were changed by the fact that his suit didn't work? In scene after scene the super hero I loved the most as a child was shown to be an incompetent bumbling *kitten*. Iron Man 2 sucked but at least Iron Man was Iron Man. Think of Iron Man 1 and the Avengers, he was a force to be reckoned with. He isn't all-powerful and he has his flaws but he is at least a super hero worthy of being counted among ranks of the avengers.

That is not what we got in Iron Man 3.

EDIT: I decided to go ahead and post this before it got too long. I have so much more I could say. Iron Man three was full to the brim with problems.

I thought the movie felt more like a mishmash of themes than a coherent story. But got a cheap laugh from my hometown being mentioned.

They'll need a better storyline if there is going to be another standalone movie. Marvel characters deserve the best scripts and special effects, not pretty pictures with no substance.
