I just got a call from my doctor and to check up on my progress of lack there of. I still have my cycle from March. I've been having crippling pain in my overies. I can handle the flow but this pain is so horrible. She told me I need a ultrasound ... one of those uncomfortable ones. I hate those ...... Hate those.... but that is the only way to see what is going on in there. I asked her if it was my cycts what could they do about them cause I can't have any meds..... due to the PE I have in '05". She casually said surgery.... I just went silent. I don't want surgery..... I know what I need to do ... and that is to loose wt ... but this PCOS is beating my a##. I am so scared..... I don't know what to do .... I just needed to vent ... to those that can understand.

I had similar pain and bleeding which they kept calling PCOS for years, even after two surgeries that confirmed I have endometriosis (so they just said I had both) and it turns out now after seeing several leading specialists that I probably just have endometriosis. The surgery isn't too bad, they will likely do it laparoscopically. I can't have laparoscopic surgery, so they had to do full abdominal surgery, but even then it wasn't the worst (no worse than the pain I'm in most of the month anyways) although the recovery time is much much longer. I know people who've had it down via laparoscopic who were up and back to work in a week. Sorry you're in pain, though, I empathize with your frustration and fear =( One thing to note, though, even after all my surgeries and removing one ovary, my pain has actually gotten worse, so surgery may not even be worth it.
