Vegan... slowly

I read a book called Eat and Run by Scott Jurek. He is a Vegan ultra marathon runner.
I am currently a pescetarian (eat dairy and fish) Although rarely eat fish. I work out alot and lift heavy. I run 3x a week and I am in training for my first Half Marathon. Last night I watched "Forks over knives" my word what an eyeopener! They guy, the Vegan bodybuilder has pretty much made me realise I can be Vegan and have a rocking body.

I know a few Vegans who are preachy and to be honest it drives me insane. I also know meat eaters who are just as preachy "You need the protein" etc etc. I generally just decide what i need to do, for me and my body and just get on with it.

Ethically, I don't want another animal to die for my diet. Simple as that. I do find the idea hard to swallow (yet I can easily drink milk and cheese, funny buggers aren't we?!)

Health wise, I have seen Vegans who look/ are in poor physical state. Gillian McKeith pops to mind, she looks ill and unhealthy. And their are meat eaters who are mega obese.

What I am saying is, I want to become Vegan that is my ultimate goal. I need to do it on my own terms though, bringing it in slowly. I want to eat a whole foods diet for my training, I think that is how I will reach ultimate health. I also think I am slightly terrorfied like once you committed thats it. No going back, does that sound strange? Cheese, gone, milk gone, fish - goodbye!

everything gets easier with time. It can feel overwhelming at first thinking, "I can never have this, this and this ever again!" but after the first year, your like "wow! its been a year already, this was easier than I thought I should of done this sooner" and it becomes second nature. I don't even think about the stuff I "can't" (or simply do not want to have) anymore.
