Okay, ladies... you've all inspired me to get over myself! I want to look good but still EAT! So strong lifts it is!

So, I'm off to the Y to get a membership and go to the weight room. I'm so scared and intimidated!

Will I look like I don't know what I'm doing? Probably!

Will I look silly? Probably!

Do I care? Totally!

But,, I want to look good MORE than I care about those other things... so here I go! Wish me luck!

I'll report back in a couple hours. Woo hoo! :)

Remember these key things about working out in the weight room:

    Everyone was once a beginner.

Not every one knows what they are doing. Even the some of the people who have lifted for years still can't manage basic form.

Most people won't be looking at you.

    You can do it!

    Congrats on getting started!

    I'm back!

It was easy. When I got there, I was the only one. After a few minutes, there were a few others around, but noone wanted the gear I was using.

You're right, they all probably thought nothing of me.

I encountered a couple questions... I'll start new threads for those.

BUT... I imagine that psychologically, the first time is the hardest, and I did it!

And it was pretty easy at these beginning weights. My quads were hurting quite a bit, but that's about it.

    Thanks, all!

Before you know it, you'll have people asking you how you learned such good form. . .I've never been chatted up (in a technique-discussion kind of way) then I have around the squat racks.
