I got my trainer to show me the fun of the squat rack today. I might be hooked. I did 100 lbs on the dead lifts and squats and 75 on the bench press. I was really happy and enjoyed it. Apparently my doing the Squat Challenge on the forums in my living room last month paid off, the trainer said I had good form. It's definitely different than doing it at home with a 3 lb weight in front of me.
Looking forward to some muscles and doing more of it. I'm sure I may think differently when I try to get out of bed in the morning  but I think this is something I can really get into.

Wow, you started at some really high weights! Did you do all 5 sets of 5 at those weights (and the one set of 5 on deadlift?). I can only do bench at 70 pounds after 8 sessions! Good for you & Congrats!0 -
wow, I'm nowhere near that!! are you planning to do the 5x5 system?0

Impressive. Really impressive! When I started, I used only the barbell, except from the deadlifts. I´m nowhere near the 75 on the bench yet, one month and a half in. You will do super!! And yes, it´s addictive.0

Fabulous! I hope you keep having such a great time, every time!0

Good for you! Keep it up!0

Great job!
Those are surprisingly high numbers to start with for 5x5, so you may find you stall out much earlier than if you start with lower weights. But if you can do them and it's not killing you yet, it might be worth sticking with them.0 -
Thanks for all the encouragement. It was more about me learning the lifts yesterday, than following the 5x5, which I do hope to do. In my sessions he usually has me do 3 sets with 10-12 repetitions each. So we did those, the first sets of each had less weight while he could see what I could do. We've been working with dumbbells and the bar and weights for a while now, but at less weight. I was a bit wobbly with the bench presses at the end, but managed not to drop the bar on my chest And I had some sweaty palms at the end of the deadlifts and had to put it down once and readjust.
Feeling it today, there will be Motrin with every meal, but it's a good kind of ache.:happy:0
