17 One day while Jesus was teaching, some Pharisees and teachers of religious law were sitting nearby. (It seemed that these men showed up from every village in all Galilee and Judea, as well as from Jerusalem.) And the Lord’s healing power was strongly with Jesus.
18 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a sleeping mat. They tried to take him inside to Jesus, 19 but they couldn’t reach him because of the crowd. So they went up to the roof and took off some tiles. Then they lowered the sick man on his mat down into the crowd, right in front of Jesus. 20 Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the man, “Young man, your sins are forgiven.”
21 But the Pharisees and teachers of religious law said to themselves, “Who does he think he is? That’s blasphemy! Only God can forgive sins!”
22 Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he asked them, “Why do you question this in your hearts? 23 Is it easier to say ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up and walk’? 24 So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!”
25 And immediately, as everyone watched, the man jumped up, picked up his mat, and went home praising God. 26 Everyone was gripped with great wonder and awe, and they praised God, exclaiming, “We have seen amazing things today!”

Observation: The pharisees were self righteous ( a religious spirit) they had no understanding of who Jesus was and what he was capable of doing.
Application: You can be someone who is self righteous ( a religious spirit) but stil not have a relationship with Jesus christ
prayer: I ask you Father if I have any appearance of being self righteous or being a religious spirit I ask that you show me and remove that part of me. I want a relationship with you not a religious spirit.0 -
Lord,
Please help me to have faith and consistency. I'm sorry I'm a few days behind, but I thank you for introducing me to the women's bible study - ensure I go next week. Let me know what you want me to do regarding church - Veritas? Stick with the women's bible study for now? I know that if I ask, I will receive. Thank you for watching over me and answering my prayers. I love your guidance. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.0 -

OBSERVATION
Sadducees/Pharisees....men of tradition, self-righteous and envious. This is what I see with them. They were so caught up in man-made laws and traditions until they forgot about the true Word within them. Had their intensions been right they would have noticed something beautifully and divinely different about Jesus Christ. Instead, like so many people today, they get jealous because Jesus is gathering more people with His teaching versus them. They began looking for ways to question him and trip Him up. A man was healed right before their very own eyes and they were so caught up on Jesus and how to make Him look bad.
Jesus was floored by the faith the friends of the paralyzed man. They did what they could and believed it would happen.
APPLICATION
Not to get tripped up by people that do not mean me any good and who is apparently against God's Word.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank you for your wonderful Word that I can read and allow it to help build up my faith. For I know if you've done so many miracles and healings in your Word, you can and will do the same now. Bless my family and friend right now in the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.0
