This one was full of surprises. Nice resolution to the Clara conundrum, but the ending...I didn't see that one coming. Any thoughts?

The finale confused me. I'm okay with who Clara is, I suppose, although my theory was more epic than that. I still don't understand how this is "the Doctor's biggest secret" or what happened at the end. I guess I'll have to watch it more than once. Glad I have it on iTunes.0

This finale put back my faith in this show . Music was beautifull, finnaly some plot, a good one at that.,Clara got some, much needed, personality, Doctors words about *spoilers sweetie* made me burst into tears and last 5 min made me go "wait wot?' and then i realised JOHN MOTHERLICKING HURT. I hope , and theories fly over forums, that this twist will be epic.
Very happy with this finale, especialy cos the season was really poor compared to previous ones . Looking towards the november now.0 -

that was really interesting and makes perfect sense and a good way to get around Eccleston... I thought the finale was very good, sadly it was the only decent episode to series 7. I won't go into anything until we are sure everyone has seen the ep...

That moment when you realize that part of why the TARDIS didn't want to go to Trenzalore was self-related and not Doctor-related. The Doctor didn't want to visit his own grave... the TARDIS didn't want to visit hers either.0 -

Where did River's false grave come from?! How did she know about it?
I think that the Doctor must visit her at the library at least once more, in the Doctor's future but River's past, to explain what happened to her.
Which means, for her it was goodbye but for him it was see you later. Which would reflect what they said to each other during their parting. She asked him to say goodbye as if he would see her again, and she actually said goodbye.0 -

I am assuming the grave was placed by the GI. River was already dead when she met the Doctor at Trenzalore, she died at the library, or rather was saved to the database, by the 10th Doctor, David Tennant. She knew she was dead, as did the Doctor. She asked him to say goodbye in a way that would make her Believe they would meet again, both of them knowing they would not. I think that was River's swan song......0 -

I also think this is her final appearance in the show. But they've had lots of meetings in the story that we never got to see. And if the GI did put the false grave there... did he put River's name on it to lure the Doctor in? Did River just guess that, or did she know it for sure? If she knew it for sure, how?
She just seemed to have more knowledge of the situation than everyone else involved, and I'm wondering where she got it. Was that information perhaps saved in the library's database somewhere, and she had access to it?0 -
I was actualy disappointed with it... I had to watch it twice LOL
The first time I keep drifting off to sleep - what happened to the plot?? Did it die with the Doctor? A bunch of scary men kidnap his friends, they go to the planet and then there's a LOT of concepts thrown around and FAR more questions asked than answered. In other words, it turned into an X-Files episode.
I also had to watch it a second time because it was just confusing... Quantum Leap finale, anyone??
I didn't like how the Doctor referred to River as "an ex" - I know he didn't mean it quite that way but it still came across cold and heartless.
I also think River's time on the show is coming to an end - I think she'll be back for the 50th anniversary but not beyond that... for one thing, XI is "her" doctor and she's never once referred to any others, with the exception of X - and that was only because she met him once (for the first and last time) in the Library.
What was interesting for me was the comment River made about still having an open line to Clara... there was a connection there... so I'm curious to see how that plays out. I wondered, at several points, if Clara is actually Doctor XII or XIII since she's always able to recognise the Doctor in his incarnations.
(I DID like seeing the previous incarnations of the Doctor - especially Hartnell - very nice touch for the anniversary. Where was VIII and X though? We very, very briefly saw IX run past - I saw his leather jacket LOL - but didn't see anything of the others.
I also LOVED seeing the TARDIS being stolen and the original form of the TARDIS - a dull cylinder - fascinating!)
I've heard rumours of John Hurt taking on the role - I haven't read the article on the link, but I'm guessing he's the dark side of the Doctor, based upon what was said in the episode. There was obvious friction between XI and Hurt too.
Not sure where he, XI and Clara were at the end of the episode, other than the implication that it was a Vastra-eque dream.... which also implies that Hurt's Doctor is not real....
...remember the dream episode with Amy and Rory where they had to decide which scenarion was reality and which was the dream?? That was a part of the Doctor's psyche playing silly buggers too...0
