Random question, I have had horrible morning sickness that lasts all day and I end up puking at least once during the day. How do you log the calories? Do you eat them back?

Strange question I know but I was curious what others are doing. I personally havent been worried about it, if Im hungry I eat what I want.

I wondered about this a lot in the beginning too because I was big on logging everything before I got pregnant. So, here's my story:

When I found out I was pregnant I adjusted by daily calories for maintenance. In the beginning I didn't log what came back up. (gross but true) but logged everything I thought stayed down. I found that because of the nausea I was extra careful about what I ate because I hated being sick. (I'm pretty sure I lived on saltines and ginger ale for almost a week and several days a week after that.) Not to mention the food aversions started kicking in. I became more concerned with baby getting nutrition than calories. I even made protein shakes with ice cream because I didn't like meat or the protein shake I had been using for years. I gained 4lbs in the 1st trimester.

Once I started to feel "normal" again, I started logging again and to my surprise, still wasn't meeting my daily calories. I no longer have food aversions and my appetite is normal, so it's back to logging and eating "normal".

    Good luck!

thanks! I was really strict on logging everything before I got pregnant so I was curious what others were doing. I have stopped caring as much about the calories and just trying to keep something down! I have gained about 3 pounds so far because of this but hopefully I will start feeling better soon

    thanks for responding!
