I support Poll Testing

I believe American voters are so incredibly stupid and lack the basic understanding of how the government works that its necessary for us to bring back Poll testing.

I realize that poll testing was used to discriminate against non white races at one point and that is not my intention. My support is to discriminate against those incapable of making an intelligent informed decision.

A voter should not be able to cast a ballot if they can not answer a few simple questions regarding our government and how it functions and some easy to answer historical questions about current events and who may have held the office of president in the past 5 terms or some other form of questions to gauge a voters ability to be informed and smart enough to make decisions that are important.

I don't want to discriminate based on race creed sex or anything other then your ability to pay attention. So reading wouldn't necessarily be required. You could have the questions read to you by electronic device so you wouldn't feel bad about asking.

It seems the vast majority of Americans are so ignorant about our government and how things function its time we made some intelligent decisions by some intelligent people.

Half of all Americans are below the median intelligence.

Wow really what does the word median mean again? LOL

So what... Are you suggesting someone unqualified should be allowed to make decisions for others? Additionally are you suggesting below median intelligence is too low to pay attention to important things? You are either capable of making an informed decision or you aren't and you are potentially damaging the rest of society based on your lack of intelligence or your lack of commitment to be informed.

This is the main reason democracy fails and why we were formed as a republic
Although doesn't seem to matter anymore

Then you shouldn't vote. If you cant understand why you vote or what you are voting for then you shouldn't vote. Its pretty simple.

I'm all for restricting voting to those who pass an intelligence and knowledge test . . . as long as we also restrict gun ownership in the same way.

We already do. you have to be able to read and write to own a gun. FFL dealers arent allowed to assist you in filling out a ATF-F-4473

Are you saying that every gun transfer requires a ATF-F-4473?

    From Form ATF-F-4473:
The buyer must personally complete Section A of this form and certify (sign) that the answers are true, correct, and complete. However, if the buyer is unable to read and/or write, the answers (other than the signature) may be completed by another person, excluding the seller. Two persons (other than the seller) must then sign as witnesses to the buyer's answer and signature.

One doesn't have to be able to read and write to buy a gun from federally-licensed dealer, let alone to own one.

Does being illiterate make you to stupid to own a gun? I made the same stipulation for the voting test (have the test read)... Im not playing favorites. So if you cant read or write you need 2 Additional people to come sign as a witness not counting the seller. 4 total people involved.

Private transfers are between two private individuals no forms necessary. Original owner (already filled out a 4473, deeming them a good non criminal citizen) good law abiding citizens don't generally sell weapons to miscreants. Less the weapon used in the crime come back to haunt them. I dont have the exact statistics Mr treetop but weapons used in crimes Are Almost always not possessed legally or in possession by the legal owner. ie they were stolen or acquired in an illegal fashion...NOT via a private transfer from law abiding citizen A to Law abiding citizen B.

As for a knowledge test hunters/gun Safety classes used to be taught in school and a bunch of Moronic liberals stopped that. I guess sometimes you get what you wish for.

    You said:

You were wrong. You were wrong in two ways: (a) Because not all gun owners have to fill out form ATF-F-4473 and (b) Because one doesn't have to be able to read and write to fill out form ATF-F-4473.

Not much point in trying to have a discussion with you if you just move on to more nonsense after being proven doubly wrong.
