27 “But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. 28 Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also. 30 Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back. 31 Do to others as you would like them to do to you.
32 “If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them! 33 And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much! 34 And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, why should you get credit? Even sinners will lend to other sinners for a full return.

Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. 36 You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.

Lord, please help me to be giving and compassionate - both of these are traits that don't come easily to me.0

OBSERVATION
This is so hard for me but I will say that I do have a mind to do whatever is right. My flesh just do not want to act the same. It is so very easy to love our friends, family and everyone else who love us and do right by us but Jesus challenges us to love (action) our enemies and those who spitefully uses us. I mean....one that I know has lied on me just for her own gain...am I to love her. Jesus says to pray for them. The same way He gave us a chance while we were yet in our sinful state, we can give them a chance. I'm assuming I can hate the sin, and not the person
That is a good way of looking at it.
The Jews I'm sure were in a position to hate the Romans for the way they were being treated. I wondered how Jesus' message was taken when He told the people that during a time of war, mistreatment and oppression. It would take great faith to take heed to those words and be blessed by it. I remember a few times having to pray for some people. I really didn't want to and really wanted to pray doom upon them but of course that wasn't right lol.
Money loaning...I was always taught by my uncle to never give out any money you cannot stand to lose. There are those that will not pay it back. So, being burned by family members, I just make it a point to give only if I have enough to give and not even look to get it back. Of course there are some family members that will go out and spend their bill money on clothing, going out to restaurants and all then look to you to help get their lights turned back on. I wonder if we treat them the same?
APPLICATION
Although there are things I don't fully understand I do know that its a command from God and we must follow.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me not to look into situations with my flesh but with my spiritual sight. I know there must be something you would like for me to get from going through it. Thank you for always looking out for me. I ask that those that have situations up before you in prayer, help them and allow for your will to be done. Bless them right now in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.0
