Fashion during weight loss

So who has clothes around their house for their next stage of weight loss?
You know the cycle, buying something adorable and then a few months or so later it's too small then go out and buy more. Then we have fabulous clothes from years ago tucked away in a box downstairs or in a closet. I am getting ready for a garage sale and I told my husband I am going to get into these clothes (the ones downstairs) once and for all. I have some items to get buy on but I don't want to spend the money on a lot of clothes while I am on my way down. I once heard someone say thrift stores are good for periods of temporary fashion. I don't have a lot of money to burn so I'm going to try to use what I have. Maybe just a few items on the weigh:smile: down as a reward. When I reach my goal I'm going to go on a shopping spree.

What do you think ladies?

PS Keep Logging!!

right before i started losing weight i went to the good will and bought all the sizes i was going to be into except my ultimate goal size that way i can go on a shopping spree and i ordered them in my closet by size and each time i went down a size i took them out and donated them again until one day i get to my ultimate size of a 10

Something you might look into is weight loss support groups - often through hospitals, insurance companies or medical clinics. Kaiser in Portland, OR has several weight loss support groups and one of the things they do on a regular basis is have a clothes exchange so as you lose you can bring in the clothes that are too big for you and hopefully pick up some that are your size. The ones here don't charge for the clothes so as you lose you can just keep swapping things out until you get to your goal weight and are ready to buy clothes. I know people who went through the bariatric surgery and didn't have to really buy clothes for almost a year after the surgery because of this kind of clothing swap.

If there's nothing existing you could also consider doing something in your community that functions the same way - maybe just a monthly or every other month clothing swap. It's a good way to get rid of the stuff you never want to be in again and not have to spend a bunch of money on stuff you'll only be in temporarily.

I have a really cute shirt that *almost* fits and super sexy jeans that I can squeeze into but not comfortably just yet. Those are my wardrobe goals..I have them hanging on the door to my closet so I see them every single day. I am so excited to go on a shopping spree when I get under 2 :) I have a huge bag of clothes that I could wear if I wanted to, but they're all too big and I want them out of my house. No excuses.
  • I have a shirt I use as motivation! I've had it about a year and I've never been able to wear it! Other than that, I am going to spend as little as possible on clothing until I lose my first 30 pounds. Then I'll treat me to a couple of out fits I can mix & Match. Until then, I basically live in my gym clothes when I'm not working. My jeans are baggy now! As are most of my shirts...but I cannot justify spending $ yet when I have so much to lose!
