i just watched the SL 5X5 video of workoutB. he stood inside the rack to do squats and then moved the bar to the other side and stood outside the rack to do OHP.... so, can 2 people use that rack at the same time? My husband and I are thinking of getting a rack like that. it'd be great if we could bith use it at the same time for our workouts.

Are you talking about getting the same power rack as in the video and getting two bars and two sets of weights? And having two people do their lifts at the same time?
I've never seen anyone do that...
Maybe you could if the total loaded weight doesn't exceed the limits of the rack?
Wouldn't it be safer to have one lift while the other rests, though?
Your question might be a bit confusing (at least it was for me) and that's why people aren't able to answer. Not sure--0 -
It probably is a bit confusing. I am just trying to figure out the best way to have 4 people in the house lift weights with the least amount of time used. I guess. 2 at a time with alternating lifts during the other person's rest......
Right now it is 3 of us in my dad's home gym. It takes 2 hours sometimes.

I have a power rack at home. My husband and my daughter also lift, but we go one at a time. I guess you could have one person start on squats while the other has moved to OHP if you have 2 barbells, but it wouldn't work well on bench days if you bench inside the rack (if you don't, you'd need a spotter who is standing by you, not lifting).
To be honest, it just blows my concentration when someone is using the rack with me. But my daughter does sometimes start squatting when I'm doing deadlifts or rows. You could try waiting until the other person is on their last lift and then start your squats. You'd need two bars and probably more plates. Right now, my husband and I could not squat and deadlift at the same time just because we don't have enough plates.
Not to say it won't work for you, this is just my experience.0
