Hi,
I have been eating as clean as I can. No processed foods, trying to eat whole grains, lots of fruits veggies and lean protein. Not exactly a "diet" but eating healthy in general and making good choices. I have not let myself have any junk food, cause I know that once I start I have a hard time stopping. also trying to drink more water. My weakness is coffee, at least 3-4 cups a day, and because I have cream and sugar in it , it's not the best for my diet. (Any suggestions would be great!) I also record everything I eat just to keep myself in check.
How about everyone else in terms of diet and eating? Any tips?

I try to get in 4 servings of veggies and 1-2 servings of fruit a day. Then I just try to keep the rest of my calories coming from lean proteins, whole grains (oatmeal, brown rice), nuts/nut butters and beans. Key word for me is TRY haha! I log my food and try to stick to under 1650 cals and try to get some sort of activity in each day.
I also really like cooking healthy versions of 'bad' dishes like mexican, chinese, anything buffalo!0 -
I try to keep it simple. Try to stay under my calorie allowance. Eat enough protein. Eat plenty of veggies. Fill in the remainder with what I want. I have tried several approaches, and this is the easiest and most sustainable for me.
Trina, if you are eating clean I doubt the 3-4 cups of coffee with sugar is a big deal unless you are REALLY piling in the sugar. You could probably keep the cream and maybe slowly reduce the sugar. Maybe splurge a little for a high quality coffee that just tastes better..that way it won't require as much doctoring. The sugar bug gets me too, so I know it is not easy!0 -
Trina - instead of cream you could try a vanilla almond or soy milk in your coffee, you'd probably need less sugar too since it'd be a little sweeter. Just a thought I had, never tried it myself0
