Perimenopausal and it SUCKS

I will be 43 on 6/14 and I have recently entered into this next phase of my journey. I am not feeling too jazzed about it. I won't get graphic on you all, but 6 weeks, 21 days and 12 days between cycles is not fun. Plus, I am about 8 lbs up from what I was this time last year. Diet is pretty much the same and my workouts are much more intense. Yet, I can't seem to shed these few lbs. One of my good friends had a uterine ablation procedure and she hasn't had a period in 2 years. I have an appointment with my Dr. on thursday and I am going to ask her about this option.

Is anyone else here in this phase? Maybe we can commiserate together

Me! I am also considering Thermachoice which is an ablation procedure because my periods have gotten very heavy. I'm interested in this because of lifestyle impact, especially with work, and also because it severely interrupts my eating and exercise. One week before I am starving and the week of I can't really exercise because of the heaviness. Let me know what you find out. I looked up the info after being told about it by my doctor and just decided I will probably go through with it in the very near future, just need to figure out our summer schedule. In addition, this whole perimenopause makes weight loss extremely difficult! Thanks for posting this topic, I'm very interested in finding others who are in this situation and how they deal with it and getting support from each other! Feel free to add me as a friend:smile:

I am headed that way. My sister who is 14 months older just got an ablation. She has nothing but good things to say about it. She was bleeding all the time. Said the procedure wasn't bad, some minor issues a few weeks of drainage, but happy now!
