Hello all!

I just completed C25k last week (I went through it twice due to an injury and being out of commission for awhile) and started Bridge to 10k last night. I am using the 10K for pink app which is free and uses my own music (well, I listen to Pandora lol).

I must say, the first run was difficult and I will have to run it again. I did ok until about the 4th 10 min run...then I hit a wall and had the walk/run the entire interval.

I'm not sure what it is....except for the fact that I went from running 45 mins (with cool/warm) to 53 mins.

Anyways, I'm going to keep at it. I'm sure it won't take long to be able to run all 4 runs ;-)

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Happy running!

  • I also did C25k and then Bridge to 10K, they are wonderful apps and programs. I've found that on runs I was intimidated on, I end up messing up the first run, then the next time I can complete it. I had to take 3 weeks off from running, and I had been running the full 10K for about a month before stopping, and it has taken me a few practice runs working back up from a 5K. Just stick with it! It's probably a mental thing, at least it was with me.

I think we are on the same spot! I did d2 yesterday. And I agree, My body seems to be rebelling too. But weird like...D1 my shin hurt but I kept going and it went away and I was fine after my run. Then yesterday my ankle on the other side hurt and I thought to myself 'my brain is trying to trick me into stopping' So I kept going and was fine afterwards again. I don't get it. It's weird because to get through the c25k I was sure to listen to my body but now my body is lying to me!! But W6 I realized that I do better with the straight running than the intervals so maybe my bodies just upset that the intervals are back!

    Thanks for the replies!

Tinker, so glad to know that it's normal to struggle the first run or two. My body hates the intervals too. Letsdothis, I agree that it's a mental thing. Sometimes I just need to get over the hump and then I'm fine.

I completed day one yesterday and I was so proud of myself! I ran it a little slower than usual but I felt so great afterwords. I think the last time I ran, I wasn't mentally prepared for it.

It seems that I hit a wall around the 5-6 min mark. Once I can break past it, I'm fine and get a rhythm going. I think that's why I struggled that first time....I had break through that wall 4 times rather than just the once on a long, single run.

Hi! I did B210K last autumn and the last run of W1D1 nearly killed me - couldn't understand it at all! I think it's going back to the intervals...but it does get easier and I didn't find running for longer too hard.
Running my first half marathon next month!

I'm now on the third week...(w11D2 on the app). Surprisingly, I haven't struggled with it after that first initial run. So glad I started it though....it's been wonderful. Hit 5 miles yesterday :-)
