Is scooby the best calculator?

I kind of "switched" over to the "Eat More" theory after experiencing a plateau from April to June of this year. I went to several different calculators and got a TDEE of anywhere between 2000 and 2300 doing "moderate" 3-5 workouts per week. Some had my cut with 15% or 500 calories at 1600, some at 2000 so I kind of "rounded" and did 1700. Now according to Scooby a 15% cut for me is 1955 and 20% cut is 1850. Should I add in some more calories?

I find the past 10 days or so I'm FAMISHED every day even after eating my calories and I'm not loading up on junk or anything like that..

    1600 sounds low to me for a 15% cut given your activity level. Scooby seems to be pretty reliable for most people. Another site that I've used that runs pretty close to Scooby is Fat2fit. In the end, it's about picking something and just going for it, but I definitely don't think 1955 sounds like too much. Also, while Scooby gives you the option of a 20% cut, stick with the 15%. It gives you a more reasonable deficit for weight loss. Good luck!

    Thanks so much! I did go to Fat2Fit calculator and based on what I weigh now and what my goal is they say I should eat 2100 to get to my goal...so maybe I'm still not eating enough. I'll step it up another notch to around 1850-1900 and see if I'm not so darn hungry!

    I like Fat2Fit and Scooby. They both have a calculator that takes BF% into account and that really changed my numbers. I used Fat2Fit military for BF. I'm not sure HOW accurate it is, but I dont have access to calipers :/

    Is the Katch-McArdel or whatever it's called the only formula one uses with body fat percentages or do any other formulas use it as well?

    The other scooby calculator, the accurate calculator has me at 1784 cals for a 10% cut.

    Ive been using scooby all along. Got a fitbit 3 weeks ago. Scooby was right all along. Coulda saved the money except i love my fitbit!

    A difference of about 200+ calories for me! Which given I've only starting out on eating more, my current calorie allocation seems huge!

    A difference of about 200+ calories for me! Which given I've only starting out on eating more, my current calorie allocation seems huge!

    It's expected that there's a difference--the "accurate" calculator includes more specific information, including body fat percentage, which will give a more accurate indication of your TDEE.

    Mine only differs by about 60 calories. If you're getting 200+ difference, you may have made a data-entry error. And if you want to use body fat percentage as part of your calculation, be sure to switch to the Katch-McArdle research model.

    Really Interesting.
    Ive just spent my evening trying to adjust MFP so that it doesn't double count my exs cals when I log net as TDEE-15%.This sorted me out.
