Not sure we can blame our MD last Christmas he was in USA and he came back later than planned but agreed to be part of a secret Santa so he on way back airport went to shop and picked one up to give as his secret Santa present.

Anyway said person got the gun and with 30 minutes there had been a run to local shop to get more and cue videos on facebook of mass Nerf gun fights and ever since that day almost a right of passage buying your nerf gun...

I run a game shop, currently in the basement I have 3 people playing Warhammer 40K, 4 people playing Bloodbowl, 6 people playing Dungeons and dragons!
I had a long conversation about AD and D and Magic the Gathering today too!

I don't even! My boyfriend would be so jealous of you. He's a 40K enthusiast and has talked about opening his own tabletop gaming shop. He's also talked about opening a bar/comic book shop rolled into one. He's got bigger and geekier dreams than me!

I'm not employed right now but I used to sell insurance. Not geeky at all but I flipped when my coworker saw my Gloomy Bear sticker on my car and she knew what it was. Hopefully I can get a geekier job someday soon so I'll actually like going to work.

I'm not like most of the other PTO moms. They all look at me funny.
    Hee hee!
I was at a school BBQ with my 10 year old daughter and she said to me 'Mummy why don't you go and socialise with the other mummies so I can socialise with my friends' and I said 'Because the other mummies think I'm weird'
She sent me off anyway, and I tried to think of something to say!

I think you should be my friend!

    Erm I work as a mortgage account manager...I guess it sort of deals with maths so that is kinda geeky right? Except I am *kitten* at maths lol...I am the horrible person that takes your house from you if you don't pay your mortgage <_<;

Thank goodness for calculators and software that does the math for you.

SO true lol, it frees up time to have those "lovely conversations" with people where I tell them they are homeless! Ugh my job is not pleasant sometimes!

Yeah that doesn't sound like a fun job at all.

I'm an software analyst. Its computer related, and programming related, but honestly, not very nerdy IMO.

You job sounds a lot more fun! And it does sound a little nerdy to me!! (in a good way :) )

Mine is a bit nerdy... I work for a TV post production house, transferring data from drives to be edited with.
Before that I was a media librarian. Also a bit nerdy.

I'd love so much to work in a proper book library! I've been applying all over the place with no success!

Oh, your jobs all sound better than mine

I'm a Web Sales Admin. I'm the person you send *****y emails to when your stuff doesn't get delivered. Also I put all the products on the site and get emails from people telling me I typed God when I meant Good and how that's really offensive. (Seriously, actual e-mail from someone about that) I also design all the marketing so I get to deal with the techier-than-thou glossy magazine print people. :grumble:

Not particularly geeky, but I spend all day online and nobody sees me so I can wear battered old jeans, trainers and no make-up so that's a plus!

Software/Web Developer, so I pretty much stare at and write code all day in ColdFusion, C#, jQuery and Javascript. Pretty nerdy I'd say.

Stay at home mom. I can feel my brain shrivelling some days.

But then there are days where we put baking soda in a pan and drip colored vinegar in. Volcano art. :-) or I write out words and my 4 year old copies them. We teach him long words like "superfluous" and encourage proper usage. :-P

I help people re-program credit card terminals. They are kind of like computers, in the same way that Power Wheels are like cars. :) Still, the atmosphere is geeky enough; every desk has a set of bucky-balls or two, and I can count 4 articles of clothing around right now that are from thinkgeek.com.

I work for a local government, so not very nerdy. Still trying to figure out how to fundraise at work for Extra Life without outing myself.

Reading through this topic is making me kind of envious. :)
