Nope, 60-70 is common for low carb. 30 protein etc0 -
No, 50% is normal- people quite often have higher on LC.
Mine is 5% carbs, 40% Protein, 55% fat.
Enjoy your butter! )0 -
It's so hard to switch your mindset when low carbing..... fat = fat in my mind.... till I discovered double cream and chocolate MIM for an indulgent, rich dessert. Mmmmm0

I usually get ~65% from fat. But I avoid vegetable oils (omega-6s) and trans fats!! Stick with your saturated and omega-3 fats when you can.0

There can always be too much. Never have transfats. Try to keep the amount down.0

As long as it's good sources of fat, I really don't think so. I've done as much as 80% fat intake for a few weeks at a time and never feel better.
Good sources of fat
Beef Tallow
Lard
Bacon grease
Butter
Olive oil
Coconut oil
Duck fat
Stay away from ANYTHING hydroginated and ALL vegtable oils!!!0 -

Lard is pork belly, so therefore bacon grease is all inclusive (and such a lovely fat if I do say so myself)...
Tallow also encompasses sheep fat as well.0 -
I broke thosse out (lard and bacon grease) as they are usually labeled and used differently, though you are correct, they come from pork belly.
I've never used sheep tallow, but would be willing to. I render my own beef tallow and use for deep frying. A local butcher gave me 56lbs of suet for free that I've been using.0 -
I think today I'm around 65% fat. Fat isn't as evil as everyone thinks -- in fact I just read a great article last night in Fitness magazine about how to add more (healthy) fats to your diet and why they're not bad for you. Avoid hydrogenated and veggie oils like previously mentioned! Especially that nasty Frankenstein of an oil canola. I can't believe I used that crap as long as I did..0
