Just started...and I'm STARVING!!

Hey everyone. I'm in week 3 of stage 1. Ever since I started I have been soooo hungry. What's crazy is that now I am eating more calories than I was previously and eating 5 times a day. Yet, here I sit starving 45 minutes after I ate lunch. Is this pretty normal?
Other than that, I am LOVING this program. I've never really weight trained. I am a runner and I instruct fitness classes doing tons of bodyweight moves, so I am so excited to start this! I was in a 2 month plateau (the dreaded last 10-15 lbs) and have lost 3 lbs and all of my clothes are loose. Best of all I'm getting stronger. I was eating around 1200-1300 calories before (more on my long run days), but now I'm trying to eat 1500-1700. I know I should eat more, but I'm slowly working my way up to it.

I was really hungry a lot in stage 1 too. I hadn't tried getting 30% of my calories from protein yet though. Once I started trying for that, I'm very rarely hungry anymore, since it's usually 100-150 grams of protein/day.

Thanks! I get usually between 100 -150 grams of protein. I don't eat alot of grains, I eat very "clean". Tons of veggies, chicken, fish, fruit. I added steel cut oats and some whole wheat bread. Going to try a few of the recipes with lentils and stuff. I was just surprised by how hungry 2 extra workouts are making me. Unfortunately I can only do 2 right now with my half marathon/tough mudder training. But in October I'm cutting out some of my runs and adding the third day.0

I would bite the bullet and just start eating more. You are very active, so listen to your body and up your calories!0
