Anyone here fight? MMA, boxing, or otherwise?

Not sparring, actually compete in sanctioned fights.

Boxed in the Marine Corps. Early 70's. Not very good at it. Fought 7 times. Lost 3 times, before I realized I should stick with Martial Arts.

Did compete in Karate and TKd from 1974 until 1987. Nationally and Internationally

Even enterred a few "Toughman" Contests.

that's great. I can't get into boxing, the footwork doesn't happen with me. I prefer muay Thai, it's much more of a 'stand and bang' approach. I also am an amateur MMA fighter, only 2 fights in. Probably another 1-2 before the year is out.

My last fight was in the parking lot at a local bar. Does that count?

Edit: Oh, just kidding. I've been in more fights since then.
  • I'm training for my first brazilian jiu-jitsu competition in December.

Best of luck in your competition, nothing as motivating as having a competition to focus on

Excellent! I have another no-gi match in September (exhibition style during an MMA card) and will probably schedule a fight against a top-10 fighter in Nov/Dec/Jan.

Looking to fight the #1 guy in New England and take that spot!
