I'm very new to this (will be doing W1D3 today) but I want to know how often you guys run?

I dont want to cause myself an injury but I'm loving it and want to run on my rest day (I know I cant before you shout at me lol)

I've been running every other day but if I continue this routine then each "week" of the program would be done in 6 days - has anyone else done it like that or should I be having another rest day in the week?

Most of the c25k program I ran 6 days a week. Since I run a 5k distance on my longer runs, I have cut back to 5 days a week. The extra rest day seems to help with speed increases...

I started off doing Monday - Wednesday - Friday. The other four days I would just walk 2 miles in the morning.
All 7 days I walk 1 mile at night with the dog.

Around Week 3 it started getting slightly tougher so I stopped doing the 2 mile walk on the off days.

About Week 6 I started doing every other day and not taking off the two days on the weekend.

Right now I just finished Week 7 (like an our ago) and for the last two days of running I went beyond the program and ran 3 miles each time.

Ha. I'm right where you are, so I'm not exactly the voice of experience on this. : )

However, I'm also planning on running every other day instead of 3 days a week (when convenient, and skipping a day here and there when necessary). Part of that is that I'm eager to run and the other part is that it will fit into my schedule better.

I'm in week 7 and run three days a week - Tue, Thur & Sat. Wed, Fri and Sun I do a JMichaels DVD in the a.m. and usually walk the dogs after supper for 1-1 1/2 miles. Sunday a.m.'s I also add Bob Harper's kettlebell 30 min workout. My active rest day is Mon and then I usually just walk the dogs for 1 1/2-2 mi after supper.

I plan on doing the C25K program on alternate days (MWF) then walking for 5miles in between (TTH) and then a combined cardio/strength training on Sat then off exercising on Sunday.

I probably will only do this til Week 3 as the C25K program would have move on a quicker pacing by then so will probably drop some miles on my walking but I will retain my saturday cardio/strength training. Then on the latter stages of C25K I plan on not walking at all to keep my strength.

    Hope this helps!

I'm doing it every one to two days. That typically fits in with my schedule. If I have the time and am feeling the need to exercise on the rest days, I do something else like walk, but more often than not I end up doing nothing just because of my schedule. Next workout for me is Week 3, Day 2.

When I was doing c25k, some weeks I'd run 4 times and other weeks I'd run 3. The more I got into running, I realized that running any more than 4 days a week and my body wasn't happy. You need to rest up. My joints would ache and I just didn't have enough energy some days.
