Texan here. I find it very hard to run outside - too hot. Is c25k + treadmill a ridiculous notion? Do I need to be running outside? I haven't been very successful at this thing yet, but I really want to be!

    I don't think its a bad idea, I just find running on the treadmill to be incredibly boring. I did my session last night on the treadmill for the reason you stated. It was so ungodly hot outside that I just couldn't push myself to do it on the road. I did read somewhere, (and maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong) that you should have your treadmill at a minimum of a 1% incline to get a more comparable run to outside. I had mine at 2.5 last night.

    The heat does make it a pain to go out, but I find it easier to tell myself things like, "you can make it to that light pole, that mail box, that driveway, etc." than to be on the treadmill.

    Whatever you choose, good for you to do the C25K, I'm in week 5 and I NEVER thought I'd get this far. Now it's become an addiciton and I truly enjoy the workout it gives me.

    Do what works for you :) I do my running outside but I live in the UK where the weather is much cooler. If you're more likely to stick with c25k doing it on the treadmill then go for it!

    You can absolutely do it on a treadmill-- google the treadmill version which just lays the times out from 1-30 minutes...

    I live in a tropical country and it's always either too hot or too wet to go running outside. Treadmill is fine for me -- I have the C25K app on the iPod which has a timer and a voice that tells you when to run/walk and it also plays your music. With the tv on it's not so boring and time goes by quickly. Good luck!

    Lived in Texas for 20 years, now in Virginia for last 6. So I feel your pain with that TX heat . We rarely did anything outside. Indoor on treadmill sounds like a great plan for you and then head outside during the cooler months. You won't get slammed with snow like others so take advantage of the milder winter. Good luck !!
