increase fat without increasing protein

i put 1 and a half teaspoons of virgin coconut oil in my coffee this morning (not as bad as i thought. the smell is deceiving--i think i'm going to get pina colada coffee but i don't... lol) and i ate 1/4 cup of walnuts for breakfast along with the coffee. i plan to eat an avocado for lunch and sashimi for dinner. however, i feel like my fat intake is not enough!
this week i decided to give up dairy for the time being for weight loss purposes because i heard it could stall your weight loss goals (and what's one more food group to give up? lol). and as much cheese as i was eating every day... yeah, i probably needed to lay off. anyway, any ideas for more fat?

Mayonnaise and sauces like béarnaise or hollandaise on meats. Very french!0

I add butter, avocado, coconut oil, or bacon grease (save the drippings) to my veggies and chicken breast. Fatty cuts of meat.
Fat bombs!!0 -
Even though I don't think dairy is necessarily healthy, I'm a bit lazy to do Bulletproof coffee all the time. So, for me, keeping cream, cheese, and butter keeps my fat up. It's ok so far, but I may need to reconsider down the line.
I am also trying to eat coconut products everyday and avocados when I have them (our stores aren't really reliable for fresh produce). I love my walnuts and macadamias (hard to get!) too.0 -
I made some fat bombs with coconut oil, almond butter I ground at the store, unsweetened coconut, and 3 chocolate chips in each one (1 carb for 3 chips, totally worth it to me lol). I sprinkled the top with pink sea salt, they are yummy!0

Hey there, thanks for the friend request
I have swapped my cheese addiction for cream in my coffee. I suspect I will have to rein this in too as it's getting a bit out of hand (but I'm still still losing ...).
I should really get some more macadamias as my home, Queensland, Australia isn't exactly short of them
I cook in 100% animal fat, which helps the ratios for me and is SO much tastier than cooking in anything 'low fat'.
I can't stand avocados but I make up for it with Coconut Oil .. Lovely stuff.
If anyone had told me 5 months ago I'd be eating this way and feeling great I would have committed them to a hospital0 -

Why are you cutting down on dairy? I do enjoy heavy whipping cream... but the reason I am cutting down on it a bit is because of the fat... trying to swap out some fat for more fibery stuff. Didn't know if that's why others do it, too?0

The strict Paleo guys do it because of the potential issues with lactose, casein, etc ...

It's a grey area, I am not sure if it is that much of a big deal if you seem to tolerate it. But how do you know you can truly tolerate it if you don't eliminate it for a while?
The last reason I would cut down on anything natural is because of the fat content, to be honest.0 -

Good read! Pre-low carb I didn't eat dairy at all. I just didn't need it or want it. Not other reason. Now that I am low carbing, I eat full fat dairy - mainly whipping cream and full fat cheese like gouda. I feel better than I did pre-low carb, so it's all good. But I know a lot of people who can't handle dairy as easily. Actually, in high school, I once passed out after consuming a pint of milk. Later, my mother told me I was lactose intolerant and I didn't drink regular milk when I was a kid/baby. Ah hah. Interesting that now, as an adult, I handle it just fine. (Thank goodness, now pass me my heavy whipping cream!)0
