I found out AFTER I thought I had eaten a healthy lunch and breakfast. What other foods have you come across which have surprisingly more calories than you expected?

How many calories are we talking?!? I love Vogels!!
Mine would be peanut butter - I know it is high fat etc, but there are SO MANY calories in it!!0

Oh no, now I want peanut butter on Vogels toast!!0

No amount of calories is going to stop me eating my Vogels lol. Brumbies also have a really meaty grainy bread that I love..0

Yes I was quite shocked at what PB did to my calorie total0

Buy the sandwich vogels - then you can still enjoy it with less caloriesI found out AFTER I thought I had eaten a healthy lunch and breakfast. What other foods have you come across which have surprisingly more calories than you expected?
I was surprised that bananas and avocados are so high it calories. I love avocado on vogels0

There is also the very thin option too, a little thinner than sandwich bread.0

I was suprised by couscous, you always hear its so healthy 0 0

I only use Burgen GF Corn & Poppyseed.........at 122cal per slice. Bloody criminal!0

            baked beans0

This is funny for me as I expected Vogels would have more calories than it does! My breakfast is usually about 250cals: Vogels with avocado (or tomato), spread and s&p0

flat whites. The first time I included those in my calorie tracking I was like "oh no now I'll have to drink black coffee". The calories are less with trim or soy milk but I almost always use full cream milk.0

protien shakes made with soy milk 0 0

I MISS bread in such a big way but it was seriously blowing my calorie allowances so cut back massively. However, I've just discovered Countdown sell Freya's Sandwich Thins which are a low carb option. They are lovely toasted and come in a few different flavours I think - well I've spotted Multigrain, Soy & Linseed & Wholemeal so far.
They are in the MFP database and come out at roughly 120 calories per thin (two slices).0

            Any bread.
 Mackenzie's is 156 per serve - which I didn't think was too bad - until I saw that 1 serve is 1 slice.0

Yep, loved the mckenzies bread until I realised one slice of that equalled 2 slices of anything else.
Mine isn't so much the calories as the amount of fat in things. I never thought that boiled rice would contain fat and even the leanest of beef is still quite a high fat level and as for eggs :ohwell:0

I'm buying Freya's sandwhich thins. Soy & Linseed only 117 cal each so thats my bread fix and they taste great fresh or toasted 0 0

I'm coming home for a visit after being away for 18 months and Vogels is the first thing I'm buying!!!!0

Gluten free food. It's often loaded with extra sugar because of the taste of glutenfreeness. It fully sucks
If anyone has any suggestions, knows of good brands that'd be appreciated.0

I found Vogels Soy and Linseed bread here in the UK and I was so happy, I don't care how many calories it has! I wish there were more flavours here.0

I had a couple of slices of Baker Delight Cape Seed bread... thinking it would be good... untill logging it OUCH!0

Not a huge bread fan, but it was the calories in nuts and peanut butter that suprised me. I used to always put heaps of cashews into our stir fries and beef peanut satay was a staple too.0

The good thing about vogels is that it doesn't have all the added sugar or preservatives that most other bread has. Just have one or two slices and enjoy it!0

One of the first changes I made. Really enjoying the long blacks now and apprecitae a good coffee over bad. The milky coffee is full of calories I would rather eat.0

soy and linseed is very low GI though, so have that for brekkie and might not need anything till lunchtime.
marmite is gold - almost no calories.0

Yup , it's my dads fave!
