Stopping the Cycle

Hello All!
If any of you were wondering what happened to aprrae, I am still here, but I have been falling into one of my most frustrating habits.
After I set a goal and achieve it, I fall back into old bad habits.
After completing JMBR at the end of July, with great success, I have allowed my self to skip workouts and eat poorly ever since I finished my 90 days. The resulting addition of 7 pounds is proof that I have taken a step back in August. This isn't the first time that I have lost weight, only to put some of it back on, and I know that I am not the only one to suffer from frustrating cycle. I could list a number of excuses why I haven't been motivated, but It doesn't really matter. The only way I will be able to stop the cycle is to change the way I eat : permanently and to keep up daily activity/exercise : permanently.
So, I am back. I am restarting with another round of JMBR and I hope the second round gives me the same great success I had in round 1. I have still been dealing with my shoulder pain, so I am going to complete the full 90 day program all the way back to week 1. I am hoping this will give me more time for my shoulder to heal and to slowly gain back some strength without aggravating it again.
Wish me luck! Round 2 Day 1 begins tomorrow.

Good luck. I'm re- starting today. I did three weeks in July, then stopped for a two week holiday and never started again. I'm going to go back to the beginning. Really looking firward to it.
When are you starting?0 -
Don't beat yourself up too much. Success is not always a linear incline. Sometimes we have to take "breaks" (whether planned or not) to learn lessons about ourselves and to learn and grow. You did an amazing job with JMBR and had solid success. Some of your weight gain is inevitably water weight. When you're ready, start again. Also, you might consider doing something else for about a month to give your shoulder more time to heal. JMBR is not "gentle" on shoulders. I went into JMBR with some slight shoulder pain (from a prior workout program) and struggled, though I followed the program from late March until late June. When I stopped, I had some serious shoulder/neck pain.
Be kind to yourself. What would you tell your closest friend to do if she was in your shoes? That's the advice you should take.0 -

Absolutely NO beating yourself up allowed!:noway: Making a committment like you have is a major feat in itself, and it's not always easy to keep it up once you've reached the end. I think it's natural to relax a bit afterwards and go "Ahhhh, I did good! " (which YOU did!). Now keeping to it, that is what sometimes proves to be the true challenge.
Be sooo proud of what you've already accomplished! So glad to see ya back!:flowerforyou:0 -
Thanks for all the support! I am back and started my JMBR round 2 on Monday.0

I'm with you apprae! I was the same way! I finished most awesomely in June, but then slid just a tich in August. I restared yesterday and will get these last 10 (now 15) pounds off! So, I also started round 2 yesterday. I don't know why I thought I could make my own workout schedule and keep it up. I need discipline!0

How are you doing this week? I'm enjoying my frist week this round!0 -
i have the fear of doing this so i kinda feel you girl. but have you ever thought of finding a more sustainable workout program? thats the thing i've been trying to figure out the past 3 months. workout videos are great but it seems a bit impractical to do them forever. i've recently decided to get into lifting following the new rules of lifting for women, as a more sustainable long term fitness goal so that i dont fall into THE CYCLE. just a thought. either way, welcome back to jmbr!0
