Lost 5 lbs after increasing prednisone

Every body is different, but for what it's worth, here is my journey so far.

After having to increase my steroids last month, I gained back the 7 lbs I had lost. I wanted to eat everything in the house and fantasized about food all day. I have managed though to lose 5 lbs and I did it with the help of some supplements. I am not even sure how I came across all this stuff (bad memory) but I started here is what I do now. My sweets and carb cravings are under control finally so I think that is why I have been able to lose.

First thing after taking my meds, I drink my "greens." You can go to sites like the Vitamin Shoppe and do a search for greens and you will find several results. I mix some lemonade powder with mine because it doesn't taste good. But it seems to help clear my mind and give me a little energy. My stomach bloat has lessened as well.

Then I have some half-caff coffee and take care of the baby. I then make a smoothie using almond milk, water, frozen fruit, 2 tbsp of milled flax-seed, a tbsp of flax oil and a scoop of whey protein powder from the Fat Flush diet people. http://www.unikeyhealth.com/product/fat_flush_body_protein I drink this for breakfast and sometimes also for lunch. The flax oil and seeds make you feel full and give you Omegas. Then I also supplement with Vitamin D, Evening Primrose Oil, a multi vitamin from Bio35 (http://www.bio35.com/ You can get a FREE sample of their multi-vitamin. You don't even have to pay for shipping.) and one of the Fat Flush supplements called Weight Loss Formula. (http://www.unikeyhealth.com/product/Weight_Loss_Formula) The Weight Loss Formula has no stimulants. I got the Fat Flush products off of amazon.com but you can buy them from the links I pasted here. Then I eat a healthy meal for supper. I am loosely following this Fat Flush 2 week smoothie shakedown. I do eat some carbs because I can't battle the fatigue if I go completely carb-free. I also didn't buy all the supplements that this diet is trying to sell to you because I already knew about GLA's, which is why I take the Primrose Oil capsules. I like my multivitamin just fine so I didn't buy the Fat Flush ones either. The chocolate whey protein is surprisingly good but after a week, it is getting a little old to drink it twice a day. However, 5 lbs gone and some of my clothes fit a little better. My cravings for sweets and breads is almost gone. I have a lot more self control now which never happens when I'm on prednisone.

I have read up on some of the Fat Flush stuff and what I like about it is that it isn't a colon cleanse. It's based on the theory that good fats like Omegas and GLA's help burn stored fat and cleansing our body assists the liver and lymph system to clean out which helps us lose weight. You can learn about it here: http://www.fatflush.com/classic-fat-flush

I don't sell this stuff, no one does but amazon.com or the Unikey Health website. The cellulite on the back of my thighs is much less noticeable. I also exercise and drink a lot of water and watered-down cranberry juice, as described in this plan. The cranberry juice helps reduce bloat. I also ordered the CLA supplements so we'll see how that goes.

Sorry if this is so disjointed. I am tired out from a sick baby and some pain issues and fighting the virus my baby has. However I wanted to share this with you because I know a lot of you are fighting weight gain with your medications. This stuff IS pricey but I cut some expenses from our budget to be able to afford it. I figure if it works, I lose weight and am healthier, it's worth the money.

Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone on their journey towards wellness.

I was doing juicing for a short while....I should do that at least in the a.m. again. It really did give me added energy.
I have been mad craving food the last few days.
Not sure if its PMS or starting the prednisone.
Felt so ill last night however....like I am trying to catch a cold or the flu or something....sore throat, stomach troubles. etc. Just blah.
You inspired me to juice again to get back on track.
I love smoothies as well I just havn't made them in forever.
