Well, in keeping with the mfp lingo... tonight I went to a seminar - scooped the salmon out of the wrap and ate it - then, during the lecture I found I was craving... kale chips!!!
Weird - because I made them today and wasn't even sure I like them.
Clearly, I've changed.
What is/was your paleo moment?

I used to get sooooo thirsty on my group bike rides despite drinking tons of water (hot Georgia humidity). i would ALWAYS crave Coke towards the end of the ride and couldn't wait to finish so i could go have dinner and drink coke. It was so good after a hard ride. Well, one time out of no where I started craving strawberries.... like homemade strawberry juice from the juicer or something. I was thinking about how good it would taste and then it occurred to me that I wasn't having my coke craving, but craving fruit instead!!!0

Mine was last winter.. after 6 weeks paleo, (and down 15) we went on a week-long now ski vacation. Everyone else in my group would pack candy and granola, And would insist we stop for lunch, because they were pooping out. I realized I didn't suffer from any lack of energy even though we were skiing hard. It was then I realized I wasn't a sugar burner like them. I actually felt bad for them and their sugar addiction.0

My NSV isn't food related. I have a colleague that I don't know very well, but he's very very large. We're working together on a project now, and I had mentioned in a meeting with a few other people about the primal diet. About 2 weeks later he and I were talking and he asked for some info, so I gave him the marksdailyapple link. He didn't mention it again, but he emailed me on Friday to say he'd lost 25 lbs on Primal! I think he's only been on it a month.
He's got a long way to go, and I know when you have a lot to lose, especially for guys, the pounds seem to melt off in the beginning. I'm so happy for him. I hope he continues and is as motivated as I am. I'd sure like to lose more, faster, but I'm trying to stay patient. I'd love to have a 25 by my name some day. Or even just a 20.0 -
Mine was just a few weeks ago. I went to dinner with a group of friends and they were all talking about splitting meals. One girl told me I should share with someone and I just looked at her and told her I was going to order and eat my entire meal by myself. Yes, I didn't eat the bread. Or the rice. Or the dressing that they all did. But, I can eat a crap ton of protien and veggies (which were all delicious!) and STILL feel good after my meal (and lose weight on top of that!) it was just really cool to see that when you eat this way you essentially can eat more and have none of the yucky side effects!0

PALEO ROCKS
My big moment was having a slice of luscious looking birthday cake and thinking "This tastes just dreadful".0 -
* Realising I could eat eggs (yolks and all) for dinner (as a quick/lazy meal) and not feel like I 'overdid it.'
* Walking into Wendy's with a friend and watching her order her "treat" meal and feeling sick from the smell and not being jealous of her big, sloppy burger because I was having paleo burders that night at home!
*Waking up one day after re-starting paleo (I started and then about 6 mths later tried returning to my old habits, got sick/depressed/bloated/lethergic etc etc) and realizing that I wasn't depressed and I didn't need to go back to bed to sleep.
Yeah, there are a bunch... LOL.0 -
OH, thanks for these! I sometimes worry that - even though I feel fantastic now, it will wear off and I will slide back. Nice to know others stay motivated for change ... that becomes just habit!0

I ordered a BLT on a splurge moment....... then when it came I took one bite, opened it up, and ate the innards of it... then wished it was turkey bacon because the regular bacon tasted odd to me all of the sudden............... :laugh:0

Mine was when I realized I wasn't leaning on the railing as I went upstairs - that the joint pain that made walking a chore (especially up and down stairs) had largely dissipated.
The other was a couple of months ago when my cardio labs came back well within the healthy ranges - and surprised my cardiologist. He said if the results stick for the next six-month checkup, I could go off of my cholesterol and heart meds.0 -
Realizing the I have been working at my family's new restaurant that opened in December 2011 (THe same month I started Primal) and I've never even tried a piece of the pita bread we bake fresh for all the customers. I smell it so much I feel like I've eaten it, but NOPE!0

After work today I went to the grocery store, and my mouth watered looking at the vegetables!0
