How long can you keep homemade soup in the fridge before it goes bad?

I cook on Sunday afternoons & eat or toss stuff by Friday or Saturday depending on what it is. I agree tough.. I'd say a week for soup max0

Probably 2 weeks. My rule is if it has funky stuff on top or smells bad, as I hate to waste food and have NEVER gotten sick from eating "off" food. If it's only a week and smells/looks fine then re-heating it will kill off anything undesirable. In fact, the only thing that stops me from eating food gone bad is that it tastes gross, not the fear of getting sick.
Back in the day as a poor college student I would heat up milk that was starting to turn and it would last even longer. I feel like I've pushed the boundaries of bad food past good sense many times, and again I have never gotten sick. Just think of the Romans, who would just add spices to make rotten meat taste good. I think people nowadays are too squeamish about eating something that isn't perfect or has been in the fridge 8 days. Also consider that the food industry rules say 7 days, and those rules are notoriously on the safe side.
N=1 of course and I wouldn't serve it to others.0 -
Soup - I will eat for up to a week after...
What I usually do with soups is make a big pot and freeze half of it - after eating the same soup for 3-4 meals I am done with it for a little while - if I freeze some then 2 weeks later i pull it out thaw it out and usually am good to go for a few more meals0 -
Eh, maybe I'm brave but a veggie based soup would probably keep up to 2 weeks. I had some bone broth I reboiled after about a week and a half and it was fine. I always smell things.. If it smells bad, it probably is0
