How hard is it sticking to a cal goal when you want to eat everything in sight!?
Anyone have any tips or complaints they'd like to share about food cravings when AF comes to visit?
I know I ate nearly a whole block of chocolate the other night.. after a bag of popcorn ;P

I normally eat very little crappy food, but during that time I can't get enough of it! It's the only time I crave sugary treats and other such naughties!0

Cadbury chocolate is my weakness especially just before TOM visits & usually during as well....
But... am very happy to report that I got thru the last visit with zero cravings!! first time in my whole life :noway:
Don't know if its the weightloss, healthy eating or exercise.... but I hope it is repeated this time round... time will tell i guess0 -
I've been totally thrown out of whack. I hardly ever got pms-y or cravings or cramps... since changing my diet to healthier living and excersizing I'm a snappy, teary food annihilating beast0

For me its chocolate and salty snacks. So far Ive been good to stay within my calorie limits. I buy the bars of Dove dark chocolate so I can break off the individual squares and have them here and there. It usually works to curb the craving.
I know I will be hitting the gym to try to work off the 5lbs of water weight gain ive tacked on since it started this week.
Ugh, PMS sucks. :grumble:0 -
Ladies, I have the solution to all your worries!
chocolatecoveredkatie.com (... it's not a porn site, don't worry, honestly just yummy healthy recipes.)
It's currently THAT TIME and I want to eat everything in a half inch radius so this has helped lots! Currently making some single serving peanut butter cookies and they smell so good.0 -
Hi ladies may I join you? This is my only PMS symptom besides a bit of bloating right before Aunt Flo shows. About a week before I feel like I could eat anything and everything in sight. I literally do not get full. I call this "Shark Week" for that reason. Not because I'm grumpy or scary, but because I could eat a whole roast and still want the potatoes!
I am currently in the middle of Shark Week right now. The cravings and hunger disappear abruptly about 2 days before AF shows up. I am not fussy as to what I eat. Usually I want something involving a bun, cheese, and mayo... I don't care if it's a beef burger, chicken, veggie or what, but it has to have cheese and mayo in it... and lots of fries on the side, preferrably with gravy.
I am always up by about 3 pounds during Shark Week and will lose it easily enough once it's done, but it's frustrating to gain it in the first place, especially when I know it's my own doing (I can blame the hormones, but it's still my choice to give in!)
Thanks for your support! Maybe we can all help each other by just being here to vent to and to say the occasional "step awaaaayy from the cheeseburger". LOL0 -
I have kids 9 and 11. I am a closet binger. The kids really don;t know the term we just call them the Crunchy Munchies. I baked a kiss for them when school started and ended up eating more than they did. I actually ate some Ben and Jerry's Phish food that I told my daughter I wouldn't touch it then I did. I wanted to cry when she went looking for it and she was upset and told me you promised me you wouldn't eat it. So I came up with a silly idea but it is helping me. I took a Black Marker and put a sign on it with a line in it with a M on it. I put it on all my favorite stuff. I don't want to deny the kids some food. The eat really lots of fruits and veggies so that eat some junk food but in moderation. So when I was craving Dorito's I saw the sign and I stopped. They think it is funny but it is keeping me on track for now. I do try and distract myself and had a apple. Keep up the good work.0

What is a kiss!?
I've had this really weird thing going on this month... I'm not getting cravings but instead I am smelling things..
Yesterday I was running errands for work and when I jumped out of my car I could smell cupcake batter and then the other night when I went outside to feed the dog I swear all I could smell in the air was fresh waffles with blue berry syrup.
I will admit I spent the next 2 hours teling my partner why we need a waffle iron :P0 -
I like to eat real food 90% of the time and make sure I get enough protein, if I'm nutritionally fed I don't get silly cravings, instead I can work anything into my diet like chocolate (even in truffle form) and be satisfied with a couple pieces but when I was depriving myself on Weight Watchers, I always had cravings and naturally struggled to keep the weight off.
If you are hungry during your time of the month then eat! Our metabolism is estimated to increase by approximately 6% to makeup for blood loss/nutrient loss, and although junk food might be calling your name, you are better off with something more substantial like steak & veges, but you can squeeze in the chocolate if you still have room!0
