    I'm here...just!!!

    Really struggling not to BLOW_OUT on Up days...I do so well on Down days, I've got a few low calories meals I can use and survive quite well. But when I get to Up day...........oh my goodness I just devour the kitchen, despite the fact I know its wrong!
    SO annoyed with myself.

    Any ideas or words of encouragement would be gratefully received.

    How are you getting on?

    I can relate to this... for me, when I'm on my UP day, I still need to have limits in place. Like the down day... I only eat after 5pm, so I'm full (sort of) before going to bed. I try to have a eating window on my UP day (eat between 3-9pm), because the moment I start to eat actual food, forget it... that trigger goes off and I seem to open up a bottomless pit of a stomach.

    What works best for me, is to plan my meals. If I don't have some idea of what I'll be having, I will eat with reckless abandon...

    Planning and portioning are key for me.

    Hello both . I have only just started so its early days . I have had two up days and so far have prob eaten more than i should and the wrong foods. I think my next up day will log cals on mfp and not go over 2000 . I think its the novelty off thinking i can have chocolate a naan bread even had chips from chip shop because i could. I did not over fill myself so didnt over eat , just the wrong food . I leaning towards more off a plant based diet so my next up day will try and fill with mostly healthy food if i do want a treat will have it but gonna aim for good food.
    What do you both eat on your days is it good or bad things.both my down days I made big pot off soup and ate that through the day and had oatmeal for breakfast . I really need breakfast or i feel sick, will try eat bit later today x

    hi there! I make large pots of soup (cauliflower, minestrone, vegetable) and divide them into 100 cal portions and freeze them so I can grab them as I please. 100 cal protein shakes also, miso soup is really low. If I run low on cal at days end, stir fried cabbage with a little olive oil and curry powder is yummy and satisfies the taste buds. Stir fried vegies with salt and pepper are very low also.. Don't feel too bad about treating yourself to SOME bad food on an up day. It makes the DD worth it. I enjoy pasta, lasagna, curries, all the 'bad' food I deprived myself of for years with dieting. I love this WOE! It's 3 weeks tomorrow for me and i will weigh in. I weigh everyday and the scales are slowly going the right way but haven't recorded it yet. You will find after a couple of weeks, you will learn the best way to feel satisfied on your 500 cal. BTW, i had a huge blowout 3000 cal UD yesterday and the scales were the same as the day before. I dont get it but hey, :drinker:

    Hello .I will see how it goes for few weeks ,so far seems good but need to just plan a bit better and try get back to eating healthy good day planned today .

    I'm still sticking with it. Five weeks in five kilos (approx 11 pounds) down. Woo hoo. I've been yo-yo-ing for the last year or so and not been able to stick to anything (no matter what motivation I had) but suddenly YES!

    Love this way of eating too. I make a big pot of chicken / vegetable soup for approx 140 cals per big serve. That for lunch, glass of milk (to take medicine with) and then a snack for dinner. Simples.

    Going to start tracking cals on up days just because I have been a bit excessive last week or so.

    The first week was SO hard on DD's it really does get easier the more you do. I just love food freedom the next day. Eating healthy dishes, rich sauces mmmmm.. im finishing my DD tonight and will make a huge vegie and meat lasanga tomorrow
    and then i plan to lose weight while i eat it, lol - I would never ever have said that befote this woe!

    My diary is open. You are more then welcome to have a look. I don't always eat the best, but I do what works for me. And if I find that it didn't work so good, then I'll change it the next time lol

    I've been at this WOE for 2.5 weeks so far. It works well for me. I maybe do something different after a month of it. But regardless if I change it or not... it will definitely be some form of IF.

    I had this HHHUUUGGGEEEE bender on the weekend (it was football grand final in Australia)... I'm talkin sausages, chicken nuggets, bread (omg, lots!) pizza, chicken, nachos, wedges, bottles of beer, bottles of wine,:drinker: a bender! ... I'm am really struggling with my DD today. I gained 4 pound over the course of 2 days but continued rotations as usual. Is it possible I have turned off my skinny gene thing-a-ma-jig? I'm guessing I ate and drank like, 6000 cal (I know, how embarrasing!:blushing: so is this why I am suffering?

    No embarrasment. This is the joy of this way of eating. You can have the occassional binge and then get back straight on the wagon. It will be harder cause your body is still remembering all the lovely comfort food you've put into it. BUT stick at it and soon the toxins (for want of a better word) will be out and you'll be glad to be feeling "clean" and healthy again.

    And well done the Storm (I'm assuming you're not a gasp, horror Bulldogs fan!).

    No, my fiance is south melbourne or sydney as they are now known, so we partied like its 1999, lol.... i went over today so will have a lower UD tomorrow. I am feeling bloated and fat ATM, hoping that will pass soon :)

    Hi everyone - am not new to mfp but am new to ADD - did it for two weeks after my holiday and lost 8lbs but unfortunately came off the diet whilst some relatives were stopping with us, couldnt fast and used it as an excuse to eat anything I wanted - paid for it big time and have put on the 8lbs I lost.
    But am now back on it since Tuesday - enjoyed lasagne today as it was an UD....I find not eating at all during the day on a DD then cooking a vegetable stir fry helps me - I like to eat food, cant do the shakes.

    Am hoping for some motivation and tips from you guys that have been doing it a while...how do you manage when you have a DD and you are at a social function or going to dinner with friends? Thats when I find it sooo difficult!

    Welcome sparkling!
    If there is a function you can change your rotation.My DD's are TUES/THURS/SUN - My UD's are MON/WED/SAT and Friday is a Mid day. So in between UD/DD (1200) calories. You can use this as a changeover. But a MD should never be before a DD.
    So for example, if I had something on on a sunday, My rotation would change to THU DD - FRI UD - SAT - DD SUN - UD MON - DD TUES - MD WED - UD .... And I'm back to my normal rotation! :drinker:

    Some people do UD/DD religiously, I just know the days I have chosen work for me every week (plus it helps to start the working week on an UD!) i know at some point I will have to change it up. Thats the beauty of it :wink:
    Some even keep both weekend days open. Find what works for you.

    Hello .I tend to just plan the week around a night out maybe have a mid day in between if needs be .I like to always have Monday as an Ud as i pop to town with my friend for lunch so tend to have Sunday as A dd .I had yesterday as an in between day and Friday was Ud as I went out for meal and drinks ,just tweak it and if yo need to have a double UD just cut down on your next Ud x
