As a larger guy it can get fusterating at times finding nice clothes that fit well and don't even get me started on shoes  . Yes there are "Lane Bryant" stores a.k.a Big & Tall for guys, but it doesn't mean the selection is always great.

OhMyGoodness this is soooo true! On guy I was really liking one time wore size 18 neck and 36" sleeved shirts. He made good money, so I couldn't understand WHY he always wore these cheapie shirts with his suits. Jos. A Bank was having a killer shirt sale during his birthday so I went in and discovered that they - and most stores- have VERY little at that size. The saleslady who went through every shirt in the store with me finally told me that a guy that big is basically stuck with the big'n'tall stores which have crummy, cheap, selection.

They carry that size online, in limited quantities, but the store sales don't match the online sales so he got dinner for his birthday ;-)

Welcome to my world. I have a 19.25" neck and a 37/38 sleeve.

I watched part of it and don't think it's that she couldn't TELL he wasn't interested. I don't think she cared. She wants a hot guy and is essentially willing to pay for one whether he really likes her or not. Obviously, not the way the majority of us would feel, but I'm gonna go with Mike on this one. If she's getting what she wants, and he's getting what he wants, more power to them. Looks weird and bizarre to me, but hey, I'm not looking for that so what do I know?!

    She's bat-**** crazy, btw...

They were both on The Soup for their awards show. Believe me, they are both in on the joke. I have no sympathy for her and he is just gross.

Am I the only one that thinks these reality shows are anything but.
Even American Idol in its early rounds is staged, you can not tell me that the folks who can`t sing a note are not qualified simply for a bizarre entertainment value rather then competition.

Bizaar entertainment has value and is usually worth tuning in for.

Definitely DO NOT agree, Mike! TV is a time suck... time wasted you'll never get back. Sort of like time on forums yet I can't seem to stop myself  The last thing I want is enough exposure to the bizarre that it starts to seem normal... then you adjust accordingly. You could end up on Jerry Springer soon, you know

I find that interesting considering how often on MFP we tell ugly, sloppy people that they are hot and sexy. I guess since this is someone on TV so everyone feels it's ok to dog her out.

Not a lot of things stop me in my tracks, but this statement did.

    Because it's 100% true.

Yikes... you are hard to shop for... and expensive! This is why you are single. None of us ladies can dress you!! lol!

<insert joke about him not caring if they dress him, so long as they undress him>
  • I saw that episode and I had to shake my head the entire time. It was painful to watch for sure. What a way to represent full-figured women. Alot of men already thing overweight women are "easy" her antics confirmed that.

There was a thread about this a while back in the main forum and people were polar on one side or the other: “stop lying to ugly people” vs “PLEASE tell me I’m hot b/c it encourages me.”

I really appreciate the people who compliment me here on MFP. It's just hard for me to put too much stock in certain complimenters when I see what they say to others. I love to compliment and encourage- but I will always find something honest to encourage about. I won’t tell you you’re hot if you’re not.

It's a fine balance. Who doesn't want to hear that they look good or are at least improving?! I will say that this site gave me a boost of confidence when I needed it, yet I came crashing back to reality when I started online dating. I think most of us fall in between.

It's a shame this woman acted like she did, but a lot of us on here have been there (as far as the weight is concerned). I can't imagine throwing money at someone for sex, but that's her choice, so no critique necessary. I do think she's crazy, but I won't comment on her appearance. Doing so only makes me wonder what people would say about me given some of my own dating failures... not sure ANY of us would want to know that info, haha...

I remember her, she was drinking wine from a straw. She was kind of a hot mess but I did feel bad for her since she knew he was just using her.
