Week 7, day 1, FAIL

Crap. :grumble:

Just couldn't do the full 25 minutes today. I had to take walking breaks at 10 and 15 minutes. My lower leg muscles were just screaming, front and back, and I did my usual stretching beforehand (but maybe it's still not enough? ). I'm not sure if it's because of the time of day (noon-thirty instead of my usual 6:30am or 7:30pm), or what. I finished week 6 last Friday morning with the 22 minute run (turtle trot in my case :ohwell: ), feeling tuckered but also that I could have done a little more, so I thought today wouldn't be too bad.

Oh well, I'll try again! :grumble:

Check to see if your undies are backwards today.

How has your hydration been for today and yesterday?

    Undies are fine, thanks!

I probably could have done better with the hydration. I had a couple cups of coffee this morning, and probably not as much water as I should have this past weekend. PITA... Why can't this be easier?!? :grumble:

Current studies now conclude unanimously that stretching before a run does absolutely nothing for you. Whatever it was, I highly doubt stretching or lack thereof was the deciding factor in whether or not you completed your run. I'd definitely look at hydration and sleep first and foremost.

There are some days I don't get more than a mile before I need to walk for a minute. It happens, everyone has off days.

It's not a fail unless you stayed in bed and didn't attempt it.

Don't freak out yet. The noon-thirty time and just a little more heat may have had something to do with it. Just try it again the day after tomorrow. I'd be willing to bet you surprise yourself with a very good run.

It's OK, sometimes it's just a hard run day...as tajour said, try again. No such thing as a fail unless you let it stop you running. I had some shocking runs during C25K and keeping at it is the thing. Ran my first half marathon earlier this month (not that I keep mentioning it or anything ahem  )

i did it!! Last night around 6:30, with my 9-year old tagging along because she had to make up a rained-out cross country practice. No leg issues like Monday afternoon, not sure what was about. :drinker:
