I'm wondering whether I need motivation or whether I am just so tired and thats why I'm not getting around to working out today. Day 4 for me.
I'm eating less calories and only doing 20 minutes of workout a day - and I'm just not looking forward to the plan - how is everyone else doing?
I'm on Level 1 of 30DS - is anyone taking any days off or is it unjustifiable to do that because the workouts are only 20 minutes long?

I'm on day 4 today also and couldn't manage to pull myself outta bed for 30DS before work this morning, but after getting up and kicking myself for not sticking to it I decided that I would at least do something else and get back at it tomorrow, so I walked 1.5 miles on my lunch hour and I'm gonna take a yoga class at my gym tonight.
I think the original goal for this thread was to do it at least 3 days a week but I think others (including myself) have just decided to challenge themselves and try to do it everyday like the dvd was intended.
Definitely try setting a goal non weight related, such as the outfit u want to fit into or the new shoes u want or spa day or something when u reach a certain weight or even when u complete a set amount of workouts etc... maybe a week of workouts earns a pedicure or something... whatever u think will keep u going.

I'm having a hard time keep under the calories. I havent' really excerised this week except for sun,mon but I have to get refocued. Having a goal towards something makes it easier. I have been playing around these last few weeks but I have until Nov 1st to finish getting into this dress. I can't take it back so now I have 5 weeks to get were I need to be.. I have no choice but to pull it off or I'm looking at some money to get this dress altered. I already paid enough into my brother in laws wedding and I refuse to pay anymore.0

Faye... I'm not sure where your calories are but if it's snacking I found that when I'm hungry (mainly from bordom) I can make a cup of hot tea with a packet of stevia ( I'm stuck on chai at the moment but they have a billion flavors out!). This actually helps the sweet tooth and fills the belly because it's basically flavored water! And with it being hot tea it takes a while to sip so it keeps me busy lol0

Thanks ladies - I'll think up of some goal. I'm too complacent with this and a family wedding certainly is motivational.
Earlier this year, I discovered JM because I wanted to make a significant difference to my body shape and the immense number of reviews on Amazon US (I live in the UK) convinced me to buy this "nobody''s DVD, since then, I've become a dedicated follower of JM, especially after watching her on Biggest Loser US.
I managed to get toned up for my BinLaw's Spring Wedding and wore a smart dress... but body shape is lost0 -
Nobody's allowed to quit! I JUST got here! WE CAN DO IT PEOPLE! I want to get the body back that I didn't appreciate when I was 25 !0

I'm scared of giving up too. Last time I tried 30DS I only got through the first 7 days and then I quit. But I'm determined to make it through this time!0

I been noticing that I have been snacking alot. I only do it at work but when I'm home I'm busy with my homework and other things that I sometimes forget to eat. I got to do better. The dress only zippens halfway up in the smaller size. I'm going to try to drink some tea to see if that helps.0

We have to keep each other motivated. I started thinking about taking my dress back to David's bridal to see if I can get my size but as I was thinking I lost 59 pounds within a year on my own and didn't really have any goals so why can't I commit to these last five weeks. So I am.. I'm about to workout now so I know I'm going to be sore, Thanks for the inspiration ladies.. we can do this..0

I know it's called the 30 Day Shred and I know people that have done it for 30 days straight, but the first time I tried that I quit halfway through. It is boring to do the same workout everyday for me. I have just been doing it M W F this time with extra cardio (biking, walking, jogging etc) on Tues and Thurs. I'm not saying that's what you should do, and I know it will take me a lot longer to finish it BUT it is a lot easier to look forward to the workout and I notice that I am giving it my all a lot more than when I was doing it everyday. Plus, it gives your muscles time to rest from being torn down.
Basically, what I am saying is that you have to find what works for YOU. If you only want to do it 3 or 4 or 5 days a week, there's no shame in that! Remember that weightloss is about lifestyle change and you have to do what's maintainable and realistic for you. Yes, you should push yourself, but not to the point where you just call it quits and go back to your old ways. Sorry I am kind of ranting now... It's taken me 2 years to lose 56lbs but my lifestyle is so different that I know I will never gain that weight back and I am so much happier! Good luck ladies0 -
I'm having a hard time of just getting into the video. I can't quite put my finger on it. I really want to love it. Maybe it's cuz I'm alone, or maybe I feel like I'm getting yelled at doing it...??? " I have 400 lb people that can do jumping jacks, so can you" to which I respond: Screw you Jillian! You try jumping around after giving birth a couple times and having big boobs. It's hard to get motivated knowing I'm going to pee my pants! I don't do that on an elliptical :-o yesterday I spent 80 min doing cardio at the gym and loved it... not sure why this 20 min video feels like it sucks the joy out of me. with that said, I'll keep doing it and keep cussing the girls out.0

She definitely makes me curse her out sometimes. But also, I kinda like that she's mean. I feel like if I stop she is going to jump out of the TV and kick my bum. Haha. On level 2 she says "I want you to feel like you're going to die" and "I want you to be gargling your heart" Pretty intense but I like her for some reason! Tough love lol. But I know that she is not for everyone.0 -

I want to thank you all so much, last night I got on the case and did the 20 minutes workout and I felt so much better!
I think the stress of a voice in the back of my mind saying "you've already quit on day 4!" didnt help, so I really appreciate the support last night!

She does yell at you so I yelled at her back yesterday.. This video is trying to get people in shape not for people who are already liek her. I would like to see a big girl on there and that will give me more motivation when we are both dying together..lol. Let's keep up the good work. I'm adding more cardio at night to my training. I love walking so I will be doing that.0
